We just picked one up yesterday. I've only been playing the stock game. Of course it has limitations and many types of games will either not work or be terrible. But as far as expanding the gaming experience, it's pretty fun. So far, I've stepped on my dog, had my dog attack my flailing arms, kicked my laptop off the coffee table, and punched the fireplace mantle, poured beer into a candle holder next to my glass, fuzzed up the rug, and my knees and shoulders hurt. Good times. This is what Mario Party wishes it could have been.
Anyone playing any games? Some of them look pretty terrible, so I'd like to hear about any that are decent.

I have nothing to add other than that I love watching the Kinect Hacks that pop up online all the time.

i dont think there is enough software to support it at the moment. me personally i hate the idea of having to move to play a video game.

it looks like its a lot of fun, but i haven't played it myself yet. the possibilities for future content are exciting, but like newport said, there isn't enough software at the moment to warrant a purchase from me. i wonder if they'll be able to figure out how to do a legit FPS or action adventure game that includes combat and puzzles. that would be cool.

I was lucky enough to get picked by microsoft for the Kinect Beta and I've had one since August. At first it was fun to play but I haven't touched it in months. Since I was in the beta I didn't have to pay for it and now after owning one I'm kinda glad I didn't run out and spend money on it.

I'm sure eventually they will, but it seems doubtful to me with this generation. The accuracy is just not there. At this stage, it seems to be limited to light party games. Trying to force something deeper with this technology yields this:

Look how slow and dumb the enemies are. They just walk up to you and stand there, and sometimes mysteriously die for no reason. Way to go Lucas.

Yea that looks incredibly slow overall for a star wars game. i bet the enemies render the exact same pattern every time. still, i think the Kinnect is way cooler than the ps3 move which is basically an upgraded Wii controller package on a better system. The Kinnect is something completely different which is pretty cool.

I read a few articles a while back that they might make Alan Wake 2 Kinect compatible.

I don't like the idea of having to clear out my living room just to jump around playing a video game. I haven't played Kinect at all yet, but was invited to some Microsoft event next week where I may get to.

Not a problem for me; I live in a mansion. Actually, today I did have to move a pallet of blood diamonds out of the way. Luckily I just got my solid gold pallet jack back from the shop (I had it painted because I'm sick of looking at all this gold in my house), so I didn't have to waste any time disposing of another butler with a broken back.

I am waiting until -- if -- there are any games that actually worth playing with the Kinect. It is a neat idea but I am not into dancing games and I really do not want to have to work to play a game.

All I know is we've had ours for a couple weeks now, my kids love the thing to death. My four year old girl doesn't really get into videogames, but watching her play with that Kinectimals shit makes me smile more than I have in a long time.

I change my review for this piece of junk. Haven't had it plugged in for months. I saw that Fable had a kinect game out so I got the demo. My kinect refuses to see me accurately which makes it completely useless. It says it doesn't see me, yet I am clearly visible in the setup screen. It tells me to wave at it, it shows me clearly waving at it on the screen, but it will not progress beyond that step. Now wonder, 2+ years later and there are barely any new games for this shitpile.
