Good match on now. Good leader board. Tough greens. Farmers @ Torrey pines. GOLF CH.

i dont see anything tough about these greens or pin placements,no major undulations and a lot of mid green placements and the turf looks top notch

i hate this time of year cuz i know i'll soon be getting ansty to get out on my home course but we still have 3 feet of snow on the ground, sorry if i come off sounding like a dick, stupid snow

I am enjoying the coverage so far today. Golf is probably the best thing to watch while working out, no sound needed. A lot of the younger players are in the hunt that I like to follow like bubba watson and dustin johnson. Bubba is prolly one of my favorite players now a days. Hoping for a classic mickelson collapse tommorow.

This has got me jonesin to play- sucks that it is still the middle of winter here though.

Tiger Woods is going to skip this year's US Open.

Tiger Woods pulled out of the U.S. Open on Tuesday because of lingering issues with his left leg, leaving him uncertain how soon he can resume his pursuit of Jack Nicklaus' record for major titles.

It will be the first time Woods has missed the U.S. Open since 1994, when he had just graduated high school.

"I am extremely disappointed that I won't be playing in the U.S. Open, but it's time for me to listen to my doctors and focus on the future," Woods said on his website. "I was hopeful that I could play, but if I did, I risk further damage to my left leg. My knee and Achilles tendon are not fully healed."

Woods said he hoped to be ready for the AT&T National, which starts June 30 at Aronomink, and the next two majors. Then again, he said two weeks ago he would do everything possible to be ready for the U.S. Open, which is far more significant.

Jack Nicklaus' record is looking more and more secure every day.

while its not looking as auotmatic as it once was he still has plenty of years to scrap a few more together over the next 10 to 15 years to pass him

You might be right; he's 35, and needs 5 more majors to pass Nicklaus. I checked to see how many majors Nicklaus won from the time he was 35 on: he won 6 majors (the 1975 and 1986 Masters, the 1980 US Open, the 1978 British, and the 1975 and 1980 PGA.)

So maybe he can get better and dominate again: there doesn't really seem to be anyone rising up to take his place just yet. It does seem, however, that Tiger's health woes seem to be getting worse.

I've always thought that this, or the 4 hole playoff that the British Open uses, is the best way to break a tie in a major. Sudden death just won't do, and you don't need to play yet another whole fucking round like the US Open does for some bizarre reason.

i actually like the whole extra round the US Open does. Basically, the US Open is generally set up to be the toughest tourney. You dont wanna have someone win that because the 3 or 4 playoff holes happened to fit one guys game better than the others. You wanna make the winner win it on the full course. Also, its a big disadvantage for a guy who finishes, has to wait 2 hours, then play a playoff with a guy who is still loose and warm. Making them come back the next day makes it a bit more even.

That being said, i have no problem with a 4 hole aggregate either. It is, in my opinion, inexcusable for a tourney to play it sudden death. 4 days of golf should never have to come down to just 1 swing costing you a tourney unless its at the end of a run of holes and things were close. 1 bad drive on sudden death, you are finished, unless you are lucky as Angel Cabrera

Big up's to Luke Donald

He is the only player to ever win both money lists on the PGA and European Tours in the same year

In 2011, he also won the PGA Player of the Year and PGA Tour Player of the Year awards, becoming the first Englishman to win either award
