In the hopes of not sounding like too much of a braggart, I just got Superbowl tickets. Obviously very much excited about this and wanted to try to start some dialogue about the big game. Anyone else going and/or live in the area? We're planning on booking a room within the next few hours. I've just begun to research and would love any suggestions regarding lodging. Beyond that, any other opinions/advice about the weekend in general would be much appreciated. Thanks

Everything was actually much easier than I anticipated. We got a centrally located place for a relatively reasonable price. It appears a free parking pass could be in the cards as well. Things are on the up.

When have you seen this? I have seen nothing but Super Bowl and ESPN is one of the networks, people, media etc that can say it! The NFL wouldn't cut off their biggest helper to their sport which is ESPN and how much ESPN blows the NFL.

Maybe what you are seeing is how many pro football championships these 2 teams have because it sounds greater to add their all time totals rather then their SB only totals? Like when they talk about the Bears, Packers and whoever else played in the early days when there were 10 teams.

Of course they are allowed to protect it. But when you say will sue just for people mentioning the word "Super Bowl" then youre a douche. Sue if they print up shirts, hats, jerseys etc. But dont sue newspapers, magazines, tv shows etc for saying the word "Super Bowl". They make themselves look like assholes and not fan friendly.

As for the betting. The NFL knows the reason the sport is as popular as it is, is partially (a huge %) because of betting. They cant admit to it but they know the truth. Why dont they protect their trademark'copyrights all year against betting books? They own the rights to every team name and even the NFL name yet they dont stop anyone from using those words/names? Its only being done as a money grab during this time of the years nothing more nothing less and its bullshit!

They go soooo overboard beyond reasonable when it comes to this. The betting is such a miniscule part. They are ridiculous and also the only league that is so anal and petty about shit like this.
