Sorry if this already exists but I couldn't find it in a search.

Anyone seen the first episode of this on Hulu? It's not bad I guess. I got bored with a lot of the skits but I think it has potential. I'll check it out for a few more episodes.

Fair enough

I just can't decide if I like it or not. I didn't really laugh, but I also didn't hate it.

IFC pissed me off so much, that I just can't bring myself to watch this.

For a pilot it was decent. I thought the first and third part of the dining out couple was really funny, not so much the second part although the third part doesn't make any sense without it. I liked parts of the hide and seek sketch, and the womens bookstore. I really wouldnt mind if Carrie just broke off a guitar solo at some point for no reason, or if you had bands incorporated like they used to do on The Young Ones.

I was surprised to see Lorne Michaels name on this. I wonder if he just owns people from Saturday Night Live for a certain amount of time after they leave, like anything you do for 10 years after the show I get an exec producer credit.

Liked it, definitely going to continue watching. The opening song and the restaurant skit alone were enough for me. Has anyone noticed how good IFC's programming has become? This and the new Onion show, and then all the re runs of Mr. Show, the Larry Sanders Show, old Ben Stiller shows etc. I've been DVRing the balls out the channel...

I've never been a big Armisen fan, but you can't go wrong with Carrie.

The restaurant sketch was great in how far it went.

I will continue to watch.

Heh, me too. I almost feel like watching this show would be an endorsement of their decision to air commercials. I wonder how much longer they'll keep showing movies uncensored.

Why would they stop if they're able to generate ad revenue as it is currently set up? So, ironically, not watching the show because it has commercials makes it more a neccisary idea to show censored movies to expand your ad revenue stream.

I agree, interrupting the movie isn't ideal, but between not having IFC and a movie having commercials in it I'll take the commercials. Dudes should relax or get netflix.

I was being facetious about not watching to show in order to make a stand. I know there's no turning back for the network now. I still think it's kind of sad seeing IFC move into this direction though. As much as I love Mr. Show and Freaks & Geeks, I don't exactly turn to IFC for that stuff. Plus, I think it's kind stupid that half of the shows they've picked up only ran for one season. Can't wait to see the same Ben Stiller Show episodes over and over again!

Oh, and the commercial breaks completely ruin the flow of Mr. Show. I heard a Paul F. Tompkins interview recently where he talked about how hard they worked on segues between sketches, and the effect is totally lost on IFC. I am happy to see Comedy Death Ray get some exposure though.

This dude is using the fact that his bike was on Portlandia as a selling point.

So I watched the first episode. The only sketch that made me actually laugh was the one at the farm, where it turns out to be some sort of bizarre polygamous situation that the hipster couple finds themselves joining, but beyond that...meh.
