Ok, I was talking to this recent college grad who just started working with me. I asked him what his major was. He tells me Classical lit with a minor in acient greek.
Why would someone pick this as a major?!? the only reason he was hired was his GPA, not his major. he'll never use it.

So my question is:
Does anyone here have a useless major?

I was a Soviet Studies major-- my degree became null and void when the Berlin Wall fell.

i have a bachelor of architecture degree. everything i do on the job i learned on the job, and i think this is true of most jobs. meanwhile my friend who is an extremely talented production artist is constantly being held back because he lacks a stupid piece of paper. college is great, but degrees are dumb.

In June I'll have a BA in psychology and I'll be starting grad school in September. I don't really give a shit what I end up doing as long as I have "Dr." in front of my name.

I have a B.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering- meaning I can design and build computer systems (from chip level up). Most "new" designs are just "enhancements" to old designs anymore. I have guys working for my company doing almost the same thing that I'm doing who don't have that paper on their wall (I can still run rings around most of them anyway)

Maybe this is why they call it a B.S.?

Me too. What a disappointment. I got turned down 2 x for the CIA when I applied in the '80s. True story. I guess I was too tall to be a spy, harder to hide, I guess.

I always thought 4 was a pretty useless degree.

I think I know it's cold. I don't need to know it's 4 degrees.

Not that i have any of theses degrees but i think that they are a little pointless... Music, Acting, Latin and theater tech design... just thought i would mention these things.....

Dammit, Skid; you beat me again. Mine's better, though:

I think all the Celsius degrees are useless, and I haven't found a use for radians since high school.

from what i learned on R&F, having a communications/radio degree is pretty useless.

I hear your pain on that I am trying to qork on furtherin my education so that I dont have to do part time teaching at two places (I work at High School and Middle School, is a pain). It just is soooo expensive.

I'm gonna be a history major. I hope I can do someting with that.

There is plenty that you can do with a history degree, that is what I have. A BS in History (I like to call it a BS in BS), so if you have any questions regarding that, just ask...

<marquee>I couldn't think of anything funny to put here in my sig, so I figured I would just make a marquee instead... When I think of something, I'll put it here... Maybe it will also scroll... Maybe I'll just have it sit here and look pretty... If I use different colors, it will enhance the beauty of it... IrishAlkey is a homo...

Education and knowledge of any kind in any form is never wasted.

Even the process of acquiring knowledge is useful.

I have a MA in European Ecumenical history and a BS in Nursing. I don't know what to use the first for and the second - I just do per diem!
