I remember this from like 6 months ago.

But anyways, I was wondering, did he just hit a golf ball and tell everyone that it was a hole in one, regardless of the result, as a delusion of personality. Did he just release the info for internal consumption in the DPRK as a cult of personality. Or did he shoot a golf ball, after which some poor bugger had the job of finding the ball in the rough and then sprinting to the hole as Kim Jon-il was distracted, then pointing to the hole and yelling at the top of his lungs "It's a hole in one!"; rinse and repeat for 18 holes.

I remember reading somewhere that this type of story, in which Dear Leader is depicted as doing something just totally superhuman, is pretty common in the North Korean press. This story, for whatever reason, just got out to the outside world, probably because it' s just so silly. Why the hell would he need to brag about how great he is at golf, anyway?
