Anyone see the premiere last night?
Looks like FX has another winner. It was very good. Looking forward to the next episode.

Has a great cast too... in the lead is Holt McCallany, who one of those guys whose been in a lot of things... probably most memorable was Fight Club.
Nick Sobotka (Pablo Schreiber) and Norm Wilson (Reg E. Cathey) from The Wire!
Catherine McCormack (Braveheart's dead wife)
And of course, Stacy Keach, who just kicks ass in everything he does.

I enjoyed it. Seemed gritty and real. I like the main actor and his wife. I read that the
premiere was slow, ( they HAVE to set-up the premise) but the pace would pick up in upcoming episodes.
I know the guy is compicated, but i hope they make sure he stays likeable.

Just finished it and I really liked it. It was good that it takes place in Jersey if only for us Jersey people! I already felt bad for him about missing boxing and all the pressures of being retired so young but still needing to support a family. I didnt like the wife too much. She seemed a little selfish to me. I understand shes a Dr and knows how bad the punches can be but she gets to live the life she wants what about him? You married a boxer and he paid your way through medical school. You cant expect him to do nothing and not live his life. Its not all about her. He would probably rather die young then to not do what he loves and be broke.
I look forward to the next eps.

stupid Dr. got excited about brigin home 34k a year.......HA! she should know better. livin in that big house with those cars and three kids, thats dog shit money.
i did love the episode though, and i really enjoyed the montage scene that they did where they showed you how he handled the two situations that were left open ended until they brought it back to where he was having ice cream with his daughter. that was cool. FX is kicking some serious ass right now. EVERY show they've put on has been really good.

That hit me a few minutes after the scene aired. At first I didn't flinch, then a minute or two later I was like, they live in that house...in Jersey...34K could barely get you a comfortable lifestyle as a bachelor in most parts of Jersey.
Oh well, it seems like a decent show. Didn't love it, but I'll be giving it at least a few more episodes to hook me in.

I think the money thing was done to show that she doesn't know that the money situation is so terribly bad so she thinks that she's adding to whatever they've been living off of, not knowing that she's going to be the one who will be bringing in necessary money.

and thats the problem. women like her dont understand reality. bet me if she did know she was going to have to pay for everything she would all of the sudden back off on the benz, the home etc. its easy to spend and live like that when someone is always paying the bills. must be nice to live the life you want and not have to worry about how you do.

Yeah, wasn't there a mention of 30K that he got just last month and that was all already gone the next month.

so i've only caught maybe half of the episodes so far, and i'm digging this show, but i have a few questions for those that watch. who is this dude that is dating lights sister? is he mob? bookie? can't figure it out. also, what's the shit going down with the councilman all about?

Just another victim. (http://eztv.it/tvnews/5701/lights-out-cancelled/)
It's a shame cause I got more into the show as the season went along. And FX & the other cable networks aren't known for being quick with the hatchet on their shows, but it seems like absolutely no one was watching this. I just hope they wrap up this season nicely and we don't have a scenario where the final scene of the season is the opening bell for the big fight & therefore we never get a true ending. That would annoy the shit out of me.

I loved the show while it lasted. I had hoped FX would at least have stuck with it, but I guess the overwhelming indifference of the reality show-loving masses was too much.

They still need to fill the air time so why not keep it if it was so critically acclaimed? It cant cost a whole lot to make none of the actors are big stars not even the main character!
When you look this show up on IMDB there seems to have been a movie or mini series with the same lead actors in the same roles from a year or 2 ago. Has anyone seen that or know what thats about?
