I am not sure if i am in the right forum here so feel free to move it.
I just saw Stewart's opening monologue. I think he did a nice job of taking Ron's points about this whack-job shooter, and Fez's frustration to make a very good point about the rhetoric that has been going around. It would have been great to have him on the show for that part. If anyone missed it, i think the RFnet nation would like to see it. should be on comedy centrals website soon.

i thought this was one of the most brilliant monologues i've heard on television......he spoke in reference to the shootings and to the people who were injured or killed and made some incredibly insightful comments that were not from a teleprompter or read off of cue cards. he paused a few times where it looked like his own emotions might get the best of him and it was one of the best moments if not on all of television, than certainly in the history of the comedy central network.

I actually think his comments leaned more towards Fez's side. Ron almost completely dismisses the influence the right-wing media has over crazy people, whereas Stewart's comments seem to outline that they need to take a step back and take some responsibility.

I wish John Stewart was arguing against Ron yesterday, lol.

EDIT: By "take some responsibility", I mean this more in general, not for the specific event that happened in Arizona.

I happened to watch it when it originally aired and it made me cry, and I am a cold hearted bitch.
