Let's face it...we deserved whatever happened these last two games. We had two chances to make it to the playoffs on our own and we blew it.
Let the speculation and offseason moves to not make this happen again, begin.

I think the Giants would be making a huge mistake getting rid of Coughlin. They still went 10-6, the whole situation reminds me a lot of what happened in Tampa with Chucky.

Hell no, Coughlin is way more consistent then Gruden ever hoped to be. All Gruden ever did was whiff badly on nearly every draft pick he ever made, sign 65 year old band aids because they played well for him in Philly or Oakland and alienate himself from every player and coach in the organization all while amassing a sparkling two games over .500 record in the regular season and never winning another postseason game after 02-03. At least Coughlin can evaluate talent.

57-55 w/ Bucs | Gruden
64-47 w/ Giants | Coughlin
I stand corrected. Bad comparison.

Coughlin is a good coach but he lost the team i think. The thing he is most famous for, discipline, the team has none of. its like they dont listen to him anymore. I think its just time for a new voice

This about sums it up. It's not like he's fucking awful like NORV, he's just not the right fit now. It's about time to get Eli a good QB coach too if you ask me. Having Warner helped him a TON, but to me he desperately needs a old vet behind him for help either at the qb2/3 or qb coach. I can't believe he developed at all with the likes of Chris Palmer and ex DEFENSIVE BACK Mike Sullivan. Oh and the backup tandem of Sorgi & Rosenfels doesn't really help either. Just my call.

I felt the same way about Andy Reid until he got rid of McNabb. I think alot of the players had lost faith in both but when Reid got rid of McNabb and then decided to go with Vick I think he won back his team. Its so rare that it works out like that though.
I m glad that Mara is backing Coughlin though. Now if Jerry Jones will just sign Garrett to an extension I will be perfectly happy.

Same for Tuck....12 sacks/6 FF and 5 recoveries.

First off, Tuck is in. He's not a starter but in non-the-less. Second, you don't get everyone, much less guys on the edge where there are a TON of candidates.
I think the bigger issue is that MJD is starting over Foster after leading the league in rushing versus an ok year. Foster rushed for almost 300 more yards, 11 more tds, had 32 more catches and 300 more yards receiving. He also hit 2,220 total yards from scrimmage. That my friend is a bigger issue than your homer bullshit you fuckwad!

Well the funny thing is it always IS someone crying about guys on their team, not guys who definitively should have been chosen regardless of where they play.
All I really care about is... A) Can we get Turner to coach it? B) Can we set it up he gets lost Aruba Halloway style while there or at least arrange simultaneous head hits from Clay Mathews and Patrick Willis on the sidelines?

dont they not go to hawaii anymore? I thought the pro bowl is the week before at the superbowl location now? Wasnt it in miami last year?
Also, the starters are voted in by fans. So anytime someone is starting that shouldnt, blame the stupid fans. Just like baseball. Fans ruin everything

I wasn't trying to be Mr. Fan-favorite. But I do know when a player has had a good year.
And Tuck and Osi both had very good years and should have been considered. (As spoon pointed out...Tuck did make it)
As far as the pro-bowl being pointless...it's like the All Star game for baseball....mainly recognizable names make it in. They should do something to make it worth watching.
Make the winner the next site for the Super Bowl in 2015. Meaning if the AFC wins...in 2015 an AFC team gets the Super Bowl for 2015 and so on.
That's all I can think of for the moment.

they pretty much already do that last year miami, this year dallas, next year indy the following year ny etc. it also doesnt matter because being in an afc or nfc city doesnt give someone an advantage like in baseball because in baseball the actual team in the ws gets the advantage b/c they are playing in that ws and at home an extra game.

Plus in baseball they usually get to play in front of their actual fans. Not like the Super Bowl which is filled with corporate sponsors, and rich fans from both side that could actually afford it.

The difference in baseballs All-Star game is they can actually play it competitively still without risk of getting hurt. Sure you might not see someone run into the wall to make an out, but the Pro Bowl is basically guys playing rough touch.

Yes but it's at the end of the season. So they can play hard and if they get hurt they have months to recover (if needed)
And, from what I understand, each stadium that hosts a Super Bowl, those home fans have a lottery to get tickets for that game (so at Indy, the Indy fans have a chance to go to the game).
So if there isn't a team that had hosted a SB in a while, this is a chance to get them back.

no player will ever play that hard in a pro bowl. football player contract arent guaranteed, so if they get hurt bad enough the 3 month recovery will mean shit they will get cut. also most players dont make enough to take that chance. If jeter got hurt playing in the all star game he would still get his money. Not in the NFL. And to be honest other then Pete Rose, most baseball players dont play that hard either. The difference is its easier to get hurt no matter what you do playing football.

Right Snacks. The winning league also gets one more game playing with or w/o the DH and their normal style of game.
Justice, your also right it would be nice to see it have something more of meaning, or better yet simply interest. However, the all-star game having that much value is completely idiotic and I don't want ANYTHING like it for an even less important pro-bowl.
I'd much rather they make it a fun outing like the skills game in the NHL and or the slam dunk shit in the NBA (and I hate the NBA but at least it's goofy and fun). I always got a kick at least watching the qb's hit targets and other teams wrs in challenges, or fat linemen running the obstacle courses faster than their qb/rb counterparts. Something like that, but more thought out and fun.
The game is complete bullshit and most of the time I watched it was just a lot of huge guys going half-speed. To me their in lies a HUGE risk of injury and simply not worth it. I'd love to see AP, Vick and Revis running the gauntlet gladiators stye. Minus any huge injury risk type event.

Again I agree. I think keeping the pro-bowl a week earlier form the SB at it's location can only help a little toward regular guys getting tickets. If all these big name players and their hanger-ons were around, you can be guaranteed they'd continue to suck up a LOT of tickets. Then those old fucks will never get to 50 games! :glurps:

Well you surely know I hardly watch the NBA, but usually will keep goofy shit like that on for some reason. I'm assuming Robinson and Howard kind of took the event to be a time for goofing around and fun for the fans as Ovechkin has in the past for the NHL in the skills comp.

Now that I think of it, here are the Packers who should've the Pro Bowl this year: Aaron Rodgers, Brian Bulaga, BJ Raji, Tramon Williams, AJ Hawk, Josh Sitton, Sean Jones, Sterling Sharpe, Forrest Gregg, Brent Fullwood and Aaron Rouse.
I also think Eli Manning should be a Pro Bowl alternate for the NFC for all of those completions to the Packers in Week 16.

Finley would have been there too if healthy.

Here's my Charger list...Rivers.
I guess Gates two when you realize he only played 10 games, many really hurt and put up a ton of catches, yards and 10 tds! Still, he only played 10 of 16 games.
As for guard Kris Dielman who was selected, he's good enough but nothing too tough to replace at this level. I'm sure there are plenty of guys around his level and some better.
That's it...unless you count Norv coaching it...Arubian Holloway plan A GO!

did they stop that shit? I remember watching it and enjoying those things alot. Like the NFL skills comp. Vince Young (seriously) dominated it one year. He even hit 7 straight targets at 55 yards away. I couldnt believe it. Damn, they really need to start doin those again. Firing footballs at WRs from 15 feet away at 50 MPH while they pun in circles catchin it. That was cool shit
the slam dunk shit in the NBA was so awful and dead for like 5 years and no one cared and then they got bnate robinson and dwight howard in it and they made it entertaining and fun and more about the show then the actual dunks itself and since then its been pretty cool
I remember Randall Cunningham back in the day just tearing that shit up.

Well when you average 1 TD per game that's pretty damn good.
And I didn't know he wore #2  (re re)

More like 18 to life now.
