Pocket Camcorders

I'm looking for a pocket camcorder for my wife for Christmas. I know quality will suffer, but if I get her anything bigger, she won't use it. She needs something she can throw in her jeans or her bag so she can video the kids.

I can't seem to get a decent comparrison/review out there. Everybody seems to like something else. Noone seems very impressed with the Flip anymore. I'm also looking at:

Sanyo VPC-PD2 - I've heard good quality video & stills and a wide angle zoom

Kodak Zi8 - good quality and image stabilization

Creative Vado HD - wide angle and good quality

JVC Picsio GC - basically better than the Flip

Looking to be under 2 bills. Anybudday had any experience with these things? :help:

When I was looking into these the flip was getting the best reviews but as I looked into them more and more I was 100% going to buy Vado HD. If and when I do get around to buying 1 it will be the Creative Zen Vado.

As for quality, these mini handhelds are really clear, especially the hd ones. I would say they are just as good as a regular full size camera if not better. unless your buying a really expensive sony or Panasonic camera that cost $3000 she will be more then fine!

yea i agree, i have the HD one and i like it. they all suck at recording in dark places like a bar or wedding, but great for daytime things

DELL is back up to $149.00 on the Vado. However this is a 1st generation model. There is a new version out now (3rd generation) which is probably better.
