Canadian funnyman and actor Leslie Nielsen has passed away in hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The star of comedy hits such as "Airplane" and the "Naked Gun" series dies of complications from pneumonia, according to his nephew Doug Nielsen.

I had the displeasure of watching a movie called Stan Helsing the other night and Mr. Neilsen was in it. I actually was surprised to see him in it and said "This guy is never gonna die...."

"Dracula: Dead and Loving it" began the steady decline of terrible movies featuring Leslie Nielsen. Or was it "Bad Golf Made Easy."

Seriously though, there was a period of time where Nielsen couldn't make an unfunny movie. Sure, they were gag comedies, but.... I can't stop thinking about all the horrible, horrible movies people wrote with him in mind:
"2001: Space Travesty"
"Spy Hard"
"Mr Magoo"
"Scary Movie 3"
"Scary Movie 4"
"Wrongfully Accused"

I wasn't even aware of "Stan Helsing".... Now... I just... want to punch him before they have a chance to embalm him.

I mean, sure, "Spaceship" and "Repossessed" weren't masterpieces, and neither were the "Police Squad" movies, honestly. Why did so many people put so much money into making such terrible movies featuring Leslie Nielsen?

I'll admit all those movies are pretty bad, but I would still watch any of them again if they were on cable (at least the parts he is in). I can't speak for that Stan Helsing one since I was not aware of that until now.
