I'm not sure if Rory Hamptons is Melissa's type or not, but did you hear the *gasp* Sweet Melissa made when Rory admitted he liked Quantum Leap? Concerning Melissa's geeky guys thread, it sounded like Rory had the EZ Pass to Melissa's heart.

I've seen every episode of Quantum Leap too. The episode they were referring was the finale season premiere, it was a two parter that started with sam leaping into Lee HArvey Oswald and at the end when he goes to the depository he immediately leaps into a Secret Service Agent and doesn't save JFK but saves Jackie Kennedy. it ended with Al saying that in the original history Jackie Kennedy died too.

Don't tell me liking Quantum Leap is another Geek factor? I loved that god damn show. I haven't watched it since i first ran though. Next you'll tell me watching Lois and Clark is another. God I used to have such a crush on Teri Hatcher.
I think Rory is just intimidated by a smart woman. He just wants an East end "Lawn Guyland" Beach Bunny

A true story of my geekiness:
Back in the stone age of the 'Net, probably 1994, I took part in an experiment the Sci-Fi channel did.
Every wednesday, at like, 2am, they showed an episode of the Prisoner with a live chat at the bottom.
I was one of the people in that chat.. One of my lines...
*Former Screen Name*: "McGoohan? Bless you!"

Tdidn't teri hatcher play a young version of Sam's wife in one of the early, early episodes of Quantum Leap?
Also, I always noticed that Sam had a little gray streak in the front of his hair. I don't know why but that always stuck out.
And I remember when Sci-Fi did that Tenbatz, they did it with a bunch of movies letting people online MST the things they were showing. Then they sold out and the network got sucky. At elast they had MST3k itself for awhile

Series finale of Quantum Leap was such a let down.
Did they ever show Sam's wife before the last episode, when he comes to say goodbye?
And Carpenter recently said the fight scene is so long because he just wanted to have a long fight scene involving Piper.

The They Live fight scene RULES because that's EXACTLY what a fight in real life would be like.
<img src="http://tenbatsuzen.homestead.com/files/zenbrucesig1.jpg">
Tenbats, when was the last time you used a perfect professional wrestling back body drop in a street fight? But really, I love the movie.
I actually tried to get all of Piper's movies on Video but most of them never made it.
Does anyone else remember the 2 episode run of the Piper/Ventura ex-wrestler/cop/buddy series "Tag Team"? I know I have them both on video somewhere...
Rory who? What were we talking about?

Holy shit, I REMEMBER that show. Was it called "Tag Team"? I think it was a pilot for a series but it never picked up. I remembe watching the premiere a loooong time ago, and I loved it, since it had Roddy and Ventura together as wrestlers-turned-cop or something like that.
Wait, isn't this a thread about Rory?

Did they ever show Sam's wife before the last episode, when he comes to say goodbye?Yes, there was an episode that he actually got back to "his" present. Starting with the previous episode, near the end he was a patient in a mental hospital and they gave him electroshock therapy just as he leapt (also, during a lightning storm). Al was in the imaging chamber and when Sam leapt, Al leapt into the past and Sam Leapt into the imaging chamber. There was some talk by Ziggy/Al/Gushie about certain freaky things that would happen.
When Sam leapt back to his present, he realized that he was married and and bitched at Al for not telling him. He ran back into the control room, and had several scenes with his "wife" during this episode. Al and Sam sort of switched jobs during this episode, with Sam guiding Al through this "leap" and wound up leaping into Al at the end because Al was knocked unconcious by a jealous boyfriend and was about to be killed.
<- and that was all from memory. Geek factor does apply here.

But didn't Sam's "swiss-cheese memory" prevent him from remembering he was married after he leaped again?
They could explain a lot of Sam's character with the short-term memory thing. My favorite episode, though, was the Captain Galaxy one, where Sam becomes the sidekick to the kid's show host. That or the DJ one where Patricia Richardson plays the love interest. Ok, they're both my favorites.

i don't think it was so much to save al's life as it was to let al's ex wife (the one he really loved) know that he wasn't dead during war.

and the episode with sam's wife was that after he leaped (it was that he and al switched places), Al's sitting with sam's wife and says that he had his memory erased again so that he had to be re-explained what exactly he was doing. I think they were sitting on a log
