I've helped a few people who've totally fucked their computers up with that garbage. In the end, in almost all cases, I just got their personal stuff out and reformatted the hard drive and did a clean install...and knew I'd be doing it again in a few months because the dumb motherfucker would put Limewire back on there and get more viruses.

Damn near every computer I've had to fix was fucked up by their kids using Limewire. I fix it, tell them not to let their kids use Limewire, and they bring it back later with the same f-ing problem.

In college about 5 years ago they use to subpoena the university I attended to force them to provide the IPs of students all the time so they could sue. The student would almost always be faced with like a $2000 per song (which would be in the billions of dollars for some people) fear lawsuit and then settle for around $5 grand altogether.

I can't help to lay some blame on Apple. As itunes helps funds those behind the lawsuit. And they might feel this somehow could add traffic to them. They shut down some other new site by the same reasoning.
