His quote was something like "I would have called him out if he did something wrong but I dont think he did" So basically Jeter thinks they are all still owed something even after they are stole their current contracts because they know that the yankee fans need their "gods" and would destroy management if they didnt resign Jeter, Posada and even Mariano. Could you imagine if the yankee management stood their ground and offered them what they were worth and they didnt sign them? The fans would want to kill them even though the team would be better without Jeter or Posada!

I think the oddest thing about Joba's Tommy John is he had pretty much ZERO symptoms. He felt a little tightness during long toss and it turns out he needs surgery that will require a 10-14 month rehab. They don't know how long he's had the injury or when it started, its so fucking bizarre.

Nunez is a defensive liability at this point in his development. Nunez might get to more balls that Jeter might not have the range to get to but it's a craps shoot at this point that Nunez will throw the ball away on the throw to 1st. Jeter makes the throws and makes the plays he gets to. I don't care if his range is shit if Nunez can't handle basic defense it doesn't make sense to have him out there over Jeter.

I want them to drop Jeter down. Bottom third of the line-up. It's really the only thing that makes sense. He's not a lead off hitter, that should be Gardner. He doesn't hit for power and he's only hitting .260. Captains can hit in the bottom of the line-up. Varitek does it because of his diminished skills at the plate and until Jeter shows that he can hit enough to warrant being in the top of the line-up he should too. The hitting is too good right now to fuck it up for sentimental value.

Jeter doesn't hit enough to DH. Any team can deal with a .260 hitter in the bottom of the lineup. If he wants to expect to keep playing everyday at what now appears to be his ability and not have people shitting on him he needs to do this and actually be the one to volunteer.

Not gonna' happen but still, needs to happen.

For Hughes it has to be, he needs to establish his velocity. Im sad to see Nova go down, hes young and raw but the only way he's going to get better is by facing the pros. But with Garcia and Colon pitching so well the only real option is a 6 man rotation, and god forbid that happens. Whatever, having too many quality starters is a good problem to have I guess.
