Linda promised the people of CT that she could create jobs.

I was one of the people they laid off in 2009 but I was just data entry. They are very good to their employees otherwise. They even had an employee only meet and greet with some wrestlers and all of them no longer work for the company (Hardy Brothers, Carlito, Maria).

I am, unfortunately, on their do not hire list. Seriously.

Are their any bridges yet unburned?

This was actually something I don't blame them for. Long story short, I had an opportunity with them, I talked up an excellent game about it, and then I reneged on the promises I made.
And contra, funny you should bring that up, let's just say charges are being set up right now as we speak.

Knowing the WWE, they probably refused to hire you because you follow wrestling and understand the product. It seems that the last thing they would want in their corporation is a wrestling fan or a WWE fan... I am not sure how that helps make their product better.

I wonder if they are offering any of the new positions to people who were laid off.

I'd view this as a last resort. If she loses her Senate bid she'll probably be in a bad mood.
And we've seen how she treats employees when she's in a good mood:

My old company actually printed their 2008 annual report. Most annual report covers are boring-- pictures of the corporate head quarters, happy and smiling employees, or even pictures of mountains and waterfalls. The WWE annual report cover had a guy decked out in yellow and black spandex with a Mexican wrestler's mask.
(It also had an egregious error that I kept pointing out but they printed it anyway.)

No, they meant to delete everything related to Chris Benoit.

I remember they had a going away party for Johnathan Coachman and Vince McMahon was there for a couple of minutes. I was truly starstruck. Mostly because he's a millionaire.
I remember also seeing Michael Hayes shortly after he was accused of discrimination. It was weird to think he was actually a co-worker in a way.

I still get weirded out when I see Coach on ESPN and expect at any minute for the Rock to come out and call him a pervert.
