which drives you more NOT to do things? is it because you'll feel guilty about doing it or because you fear getting caught? For me it's the fear of getting caught.

Well many times when i'm checking out these teen sites where the girls are either 15 or 16 there's the guilt that i'm watching the exploitation of a young girl and the fear that a cop is tracking what i'm looking at and 5 minutes away from busting my door open.

Neither! if both are not of great interest of me, i'll leave it. Fear has nothing to do with it and I stop listening to my conscious a long time ago.

going back to my Criminology degree, there are three factors that deter deviant behavior:
Certainty of getting caught is the most powerful

Celerity the speed at which punishment will be carried out is very important. if you get caught but not punished for years, people tend not to fear commiting the act(whatever it is you have planned ikeaboy)

and thirdly Severity is the least influencal factor. Look at the death penalty. After states institute the death penalty, there is no appreciable decline in crime.

Always Guilt...

fear only makes me act more cautios or careful, guilt will stop me from doing things I might regret

There is nothing more exhilerating than pointing out
the shortcomings of others, is there?
