Should I worry about glucose as an ingredient in my food?

Was talking to a dude today and I brought up how there was no corn syrup in anything in Europe and showed him some mints that I bought that have real sugar as an ingredient. He looked at them and when he saw glucose listed after sugar he flipped out and wanted to know how I could be eating that poison. He quickly went online and tried to find articles discussing how glucose is a killer and that no one should ever get near it. Said it was as bad as aspartame and corn syrup.

I walked away calling him crazy but he got me wondering if these mints are another example as food being used as a weapon against the unknowing population.

So why would extra glucose be added into something if normal sugar is being used?

Fructose is broken down to more glucose. But HFCS is sweeter than glucose , so it takes LESS of it to make foods taste sweet.So, quite often HFCS is used to sweeten things more than glucose . A lot of things that used to use regular sugar/glucose now use HFCS instead.

Yeah, that, but this has sugar and glucose in the ingredient list. Wouldn't it just need sugar? I know that HFCS is pushed in this country due to corn subsidies and the cheapness over using natural products, but this had no HFCS in it, just sugar and glucose.

Maybe it's for practical reasons. I think glucose comes in a liquid, while regular sugar will crystallize easily and requires precise temperatures to get it to do the things candy makers want it to.

Sugar, as listed on your ingredient list, is most likely sucrose. Sucrose is made up of fructose and glucose.
So, your sauna buddy's fear is misplaced. I think the glucose has gotten a negative image due to its connection to diabetes, aside from whatever issues sugar actually presents. Glucose is sometimes listed as dextrose in the ingredients to avoid this negative image.
Or, glucose is another population tool used by the elite.

Now , Splenda is just an isomer of glucose, as the molecule is turned so it still tingles those taste buds like sugar, but won't be absorbed and used as sugar ( Although it does go through some nasty chemical processes to turn it into a "L-sugar") .But Nutrasweet has been around for decades, and there's still controversy about that.One is that it uses something like formaldehyde to make it. But these problems were argued about even before it came out.
Fortunately , some right-thinking Americans had the juice decades ago to pass a law so it could sail by the FDA and become the cash-cow it is now.Those Americans? Don Rumsfeld & Dick Cheney!..Its why I never use it . If those fuckers have their hands in it,it CAN'T be good for you.
