Tomorrow I will be running my first half marathon. i have been training about 10 weeks for this and I feel about as good as I can hope for. I hope to finish under two hours, I don't care if its 1:59:59.
January 9th will be my first marathon and it will be at Disney World.

Have fun with it. Good luck with the sub 2 hour. You should have great weather for it and from what I remember the SI half was a flat course. Sounds like you've done the training just resist going out too fast. My first half I went out too fast cause I was excited by the crowd and ended up burning out at the finish.

True. But it feels really good when you stop.

Good Luck! I coached track and ran for years (still do). Skane's right. Stick to your game plan. You know what your body can do at this point. The adrenalin will help and you'll be able to do a little more than you think. Just don't push too hard.
And remember, if you throw-up just over the finish line, you ran a perfect race. You left nothing on the field.
Let us know how you do.

Well although this is my first half I have run a good deal of other events so I am sure I can avoid the initial excitement.

at 9 and 1/4 miles I hit a huge wall up until then I was on a terrific pace, right where I wanted to be but then it felt like someone put a lead suit on me.

Very Nicely Done! Great first outing! The wall will come later next time and you'll be able to run through it!
Now start training for the Queens Half Marathon in College Point around Easter.

Did anyone poo themselves? That's the only part of marathons that I care about.
