I figured this message board would attract people who might know the answer to this type of question.

I just got a time slot on my college radio station. I want to be able to set up some bumpers, intros, soundbites, etc. What I am looking for is a way to take recordings of my own voice, audio from DVDs, music, etc. and edit them all together into one mp3 file.

Does anyone know how I can do this just using basic PC programs or downloadable software?

Cool Edit Pro, GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/), Adobe Audition

Audacity is free but it sucks IMO spend some money on a good program and learn it.

I use FairStars Recorder.

Most of these apps do ok. If you go back a page, look for link tree on top of page on cnet. You should see other recording apps also.

Audacity can. I've never used any of the others.

You need to read the instructions on how to download the mp3 codec for one. It's really not hard to use. I first started using it when I had next to no computer experience.
