I keep seeing the On Demand/DVD commercial for " Repo Men " and I've gotta say my desire to see it, which started at " Only if it would save a baby's life ", has decreased with each time it's been shown.

What a piece of shit that looks like.

I can't even say I hate it due to the cast, because I don't mind Forest Whitaker or even that femme dude, but the plot looks as bad as anything ever conceived.

I inexplicably never saw it when I was younger, and now I feel that -no matter how great a film it is- it simply can't live up to it's own reputation. It's own legend.

You've confused Repo Man with Repo Men. I've only seen Repo Man, which is a cult classic with a hell of a soundtrack. I've heard of Repo! The Genetic Opera, but never seen it. I thought you were confusing Repo Man with Repo!, so I looked into it, and apparently Repo Men totally ripped the premise of Repo!, neither of which have I seen. I would hazard an assumption that if someone was to only see one of these three movies, it should be Repo Man.

It's becoming almost cliche to hate on these quick turnaround remakes, but we have no choice other than to hate on them. Let The Right One In was fantastic. Let it age a little before you leeches fast-foodnitize it, dammit. From a marketing standpoint, which you can't really fault a movie business for adopting, it makes sense. But it's still offensive to the art of filmmaking. I still haven't seen the original Girl W/ A Tattoo, but I gather it's the same type of deal.

Joe Vs The Volcano is a fantastic movie though.

Did people ever think he was a really fine actor? I remember him as being a big movie star, who could play comedy and drama, who also has a reputation for being a really nice guy. I dont think anyone ever acted like he was a young Brando. And dont bring up the Oscars, because those are atleast as much about being a movie star than a good actor.

That's more a problem with the institution than with him, the list of people that did not deserve their awards is pretty extensive. I think Hanks has been pretty good about not abusing winning back to back oscars, the general tone of his career seemed to remain that he just wants to make movies that people enjoy.

I'm pretty much done with comic book movies. I don't think I'll ever see Iron Man 2, maybe I'll see another Batman, but have no interest in any Avengers related stuff or new X-Men movies.
