Restaurant Recommendations
If you should really enjoy the cuisine and decor at a particular establishment, please please recall the name of the restaurant, it's location, what you partook and the price range of it's menu.
Especially in the NYC, Chi-Town, San Fran areas.

I really dont get going to a steakhouse as an exotic dining experience. A steak house is a place you go when you need to go to a nice dinner but you're going with picky eaters.
Case in point, Rustin really wants to go to Peter Luger, to eat a steak, in New York, which is one of the most culinary diverse places on the planet. A steak he could damn near replicate in his house if he could get his hands on the same product. Not to mention he's from Texas, where the damn meat probably came from, which is a land populated with steakhouses. It's not even an exotic steak, atleast I understand how a person who eats out all the time might say "Let's see the difference between grass fed and corn fed, hey this guy's got wagyu on the menu lets get that." Or even a less traditional cut of meat. But this idiot is going to eat a porterhouse because some 90 year old man in a vest will bring it to him.
I've never ordered a steak off of a strong menu, I always thought the token steak on a menu in a fine dining place is there as a safety net to catch people who cant find anything they want, its not an option it's a failsafe. There will always be a steak and there will always be a vegetarian option, and I believe they are intended for the same niche tastes.

Max's in San Fran is great for diner/deli type food. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and was longing for that type of place. They have a piano player sometimes, and the employees take turns performing. I've been there several times and always enjoy it. You have to be careful when you go though, because it's very close to the Opera house and gets really busy before and after a performance because of the theatre crowd.
P.S. I discovered it has several locations, so I go to the one here in Burlingame now. The ultimate grilled cheese causes me to have night sweats it's so good.
