Parking In Handicapped Spots

They had a little street fair thing in town yesterday and the parking was a bitch.

As we're driving around looking for a sport I see all of these people parked in handicapped spots w/o either a plate or tag indicating that they driver or passanger is handicapped.

I'd have never done that in the past but I'm surely much more sympatheric to the matter since my dad lost his leg a few years ago.

Who does that kinda shit ?

I almost wanted to tell some of the police that were working the event about it so they'd go do some ticketing/towing.

AMEN brother! We have handicapped tags to hang from our mirror and it really pisses me off when I see people who park in those spots out of pure laziness. I walk with a cane and often don't use the spots unless its truly to far for me to comfortably walk.

The people that drive me nuts are the people who park in the no parking area in between the handicapped spots, like this is somehow better than parking in the handicap spot. Great, someone can park there now, they just can't get out of their fucking car.

we're now in a good spot for parking, but used to regularly have to hunt for an hour or more at night.

i agree and way too many people can get a handicap a lot easier now. just ask your doctor and if you have the slightest problem they will give you the documentation to get the temp tag.

They definatley need to review WHO gets a Handicapp pass. They hand them out to everyone these days. I see people in thier 20's with them. Listen if you have one just because your FAT then heres some news...maybe you should walk a little more.

I have also seen a ton of people who have the handicapped sign and they get out of their cars and seem to have no issue whatsoever. Two women in my office have then and have boasted how they get them by complaining to their doctors and the doctor signs a form that enables them to get the signs. There is nothing wrong with these women except they are overweight (I wonder why!).

He didn't drive so we tried to get it so his friends (who he relied on to bring him food and stuff) could park in the spot. The city absolutely refused. We asked why there was even a space there, and they said the law required that there be one, since he was handicapped. But he didn't drive WE DROVE! :wallbash:

It was just a random handicapped spot any handicapped person could park at? So if there was another handicapped person around he would of been out of luck?

No. The spot was put there by the city when he moved in. There was nowhere else near his place where anyone else would be going.
