Ricky and Stephen have a new show coming out on ITV in the U.K.
I just d/l'd and watched the Preview Episode, and it was hilarious.
"An Idiot Abroad" is a travel show starring their former radio producer Karl Pilkington. They send Karl around the world the visit the Seven Wonders of the World. Thing is, Karl does not want to go. Karl is indescribable, but something about him reminded me of Fezzie.
Find it, download it, watch it...

It was a decent coming-of-age flick. Clever but formulaic. I saw it then forgot it.

Is there a legal way to see AIA or is it syndication underground?

It's a Sky1 show, so I doubt that BBC America will have the rights. I don't know, maybe the Travel Channel will buy it, but I doubt it will be out anywhere near the UK airing date. You're better off just downloading it when it comes out over there.

Karl pilkington has got a head like a fuckin orange. This guy is so funny on the gervais podcasts. The dynamic of ricky and karl kind of remind me of fez and ronnie b. One is a comedic genius and the other is a strange, retarded, oddity of a human being.
I watched the first episode about Karl's visit to China, this could be one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
You might see this post and think that's a mighty big statement, well watch it, and try not to laugh non stop for most of the 44 minutes.
Some cable outlet in the U.S has to pick this up, it's simply too funny not to be seen by a bigger audience.
HBO already has a relationship with them, so I hope they do it.
I can't wait to see if the rest of the series lives up to the first episode, I want to say that will be impossible, but who knows Karl Pilkington is a legend.

Just the preview show is hilarious. Karl's comment that God must have made the fat worm from Peru in the afternoon of the 7th day killed me. I can't wait to see the show! Gervais and Merchant are geniuses and they should thank the heavens that Karl Pilkington was dropped in their laps. Thanks for bringing this to our attention gopackjo
Someone needs to torrent it! All they got is the preview show currently, sigh.

Yeah, this show is fantastic. Although the preview for the India episode seriously made me cringe.
First episode just got added to more traditional torrent sites, woot.

I'm not a fan of the non-traditional sites. What they do in the privacy of their torrents is fine, but when you bring it out into the public, that's just disgusting.
Maybe a better word would be - the more easily accessible torrent sites.

Science Channel Acquires Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant's "An Idiot Abroad"
Science Channel has acquired the broadcast rights to "An Idiot Abroad," a travel documentary series featuring Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.
The eight-episode series, which bowed on the U.K.'s Sky1 earlier this year, will be highlighted during the Discovery sibling's portion of the TCA Winter Press Tour next month in anticipation of its premiere, tentatively set for Friday, January 21.
"Abroad," in the vein of HBO's "The Ricky Gervais Show," tracks "idiot" Pilkington as he travels to famous sites around the world - Chichen Itza in Mexico, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, the Giza Pyramid Complex in Egypt, the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu in Peru, Petra in Jordan and the Taj Mahal in India - with Merchant and Gervais monitoring his progress back in London.

Travel channel would've been a better fit, but OK.
I've seen it already, so I don't really care.
Strap in kids... Here we go! Be watching!

I liked the great wall episode.
But, I can't see how they will air this in the US. It will be seen as racist.

Anyone watching this? Probably my favorite new show of the season. I've seen the China and India one aired on the Science Channel. On Demand also has a few "extras" available consisting of deleted scenes.
The India one was both hilarious and disturbing in regards to the poor of that country. Despite Karl's hysterics about where he was sleeping and shitting, it was really humbling to see how those people live day to day.
Then his summary of the Taj Mahal on the boat ride was f'n brilliant.

For some reason, I'm just watching the wrap up show now. It's some of the funniest tv I've ever seen.

The bit where Karl and Ricky are role playing Karl being kidnapped was my favorite in the wrap up show.

The latest episode featured a Chinese dwarf village/amusement park, and they concluded with a debate between Karl and Warwick Davis about the ethics of said Chinese dwarf village/amusement park. It was delightful.
