About Internet Wrestling Fans.....
I do. I have a Facebook page. I do an internet radio show once a month on Monday Night Mayhem and I take questions from my Facebook page and answer them live on that show. I think the internet is a manifestation of a certain sector of, as you referred to them, the hardcore fandom audience, but I would suggest that only 10 percent of that audience is the loudest portion, and they are probably a bit obsessive compulsive and get caught up in it so much that they might have lost sight of reality in some respect. But the other 90 percent of the internet audience are just people who want to keep up on what's going on behind the scenes. But, unfortunately, what we read on the internet and the rumors that are passed around and all the ridiculous observations and perspective by guys like Dave Scherer and Dave Meltzer and guys who put themselves out there to be some kind of expert when they've had zero experience in the wrestling business – that type of commentary tends to appeal the most obsessive compulsive, and loudest, 10 percent
On His and Hogans deal & ROH....
Eric Bischoff did an interview with Slam Wrestling regarding the Twitter incident over the last few days. You can read that here. In regard to Hulk Hogan's contract status with TNA he said, "Hulk Hogan is still with TNA. We have a contract for two years, and we plan on fulfilling our contract."
- In addition, Bischoff asked fans today on his Facebook page to provide a list of newer names that have "drawn money in the last ten years." He later went off on the responses, saying Ring of Honor has never drawn money. Of course, many of TNA's own talent like AJ Styles, Jay Lethal, Samoa Joe, and Alex Shelley have all come from the company. His full comment is below:
"Interesting resonses. Clearly the majority of people here have NO IDEA what drawing money is. ROH is not making money on TV, PPV or arena shows. Its a backyard vanity project for marks. No disrespect to the talent who are working hard, but NUMBERS DONT LIE, THEY DONT HAVE OPINIONS AND THEY DON'T HAVE AGENDAS."
