'Ty-D-Bol man' Dan Resin dead at 79

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. actor and TV pitchman Dan Resin has died of complications of Parkinson's disease, his family said. He was 79.

Born Daniel Wrzesien, he was best known for his "Ty-D-Bol" commercials and portrayal of obnoxious Dr. Beeper in the big-screen comedy classic "Caddyshack."

I've just been reading up on him and saw that he lived in my home town of Secaucus, NJ for like 50 years. I now realize that I must have seen him around town dozens of times and never made the conncetion that he was Dr. Beeper. Holy fuck, do I wish I'd known that! (You might not have guessed this about me - but I'm a little bit of a Caddyshack fan.)
