I find this thread offensive.

Sneak preview last night and the regular slot is during the week. Hopefully its better than the abortion that is Cupcake Wars. Didn't catch it yet but I did notice Zakarian is one of the judges, for exponential smugness.
I'm also interested in the food truck race show that Tyler Florence will be hosting.

I saw last night's show, and I liked the concept. It was clearly obvious that the Bistro Urbana team understood the timing in running a restaurant, and the other team did not because they were making their tables wait constantly.
Scott Conant wasn't as NEARLY as much of a jerk on this show as he was on Chopped, but Zakarian was in rare form.

Cupcake Wars is AWFUL. I'm really getting annoyed with Food Network's concept shows where they give you outrageous ingredients and force the competitors into doing something with it. It works on chopped but Cupcake Wars is pure competition and you're not going to experiment with their techniques.
The food truck race looks REALLY cool though. I love the hybrid travel shows Food Network does.

I think I've seen all of these now and I like Scott Conant better than I thought I would. I do like the show. I think they're going to have to rely on gimick concepts to keep the show going though. A few of the places have done the 'rustic italian' thing. The problem is they're going to have people who have viable restaurant ideas coming on the show, so you're going to see a bunch of the same concepts, and the show will get boring.
For anyone who is keeping up with it, how much of a total hipster fag was Duckie from & Jelly this week? And what was his accent?
If you noticed he had a 6 of PBR in the fridge, so I'm sure Blowhard shit. Bottles though, guess they were out of cans.
