So I figured we could make this a sticky thread about fantasy booking. The rules are simple:
- Re-write an angle the way you would have wanted to see it done
- Can be as current as the most recent episode of a show or a famous angle from wrestling's past
I'll start it off by re-writing the last TNA PPV, Victory Road.
The opening video starts with Abyss still speaking about how "they" are coming and that "they" told him to prepare the way for what is to come. Pyro ignites and Mike Tenay with Taz welcome us to Victory Road. Before the opening bell can begin, Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Rhino, and Stevie Richards arrive this time being accompanied by Al Snow and Simon Diamond (Both of whom have made TNA appearances in the past). They sit in a corner part of the arena to observe the whole show.
- Match 1: Douglas Williams vs Brian Kendrick - X-Division Title
The match goes back and forth with chain wrestling. Kendrick is trying to make Williams submit. Williams at one point decides to go up to the top rope but gets a bit woozy as the commentators suggest that he has a fear of heights and perhaps that's why he's never been a fan of high flying. Taz insinuates he's jealous of those that do use those moves and takes his anger out by making them submit. That is in fact what he does as he reverses Kendrick's Sliced Bread #2 into a Dragon Sleeper which causes Kendrick to tap out, Williams retains.
Dixie Carter is seen backstage observing the PPV on her own monitor and looking at the ECW alumni in their own seating area. She is very aware of the situation.
Christy Hemme interviews Brother Ray who goes off on Devon saying that he is Team 3D and without him he'd be nothing, and the same goes for Jesse Neal who he trained and will "end his short career tonight."
- Match 2: Brother Ray vs Jesse Neal vs Brother Devon, Triple Threat
Brother Ray comes out first, looks to the corner of the ECW alumni and wonders exactly why they're here too. Jesse Neal runs out while he's distracted and hits him with a surprise spear and then wails on him. Brother Devon comes out and tries to separate the two. Brother Ray and Devon come face to face and when it looks like they're about to attack Jesse together, Devon swings and takes out Brother Ray. The two go at it for a while until Jesse Neal surprisingly hits Devon with a spear. Brother Ray takes the opportunity to hit Jesse with a Bubba Bomb and get the one, two, three. With Neal down and Devon down, Ray goes and gets a table from ringside. He sets it up in the ring and puts Jesse on top of it. When Ray goes up top, Devon pushes Neal off of the table and Brother Ray crashes through the table by himself from a splash. Devon looks over his fallen brother, down at Jesse Neal who is leaving up the ramp, and then at the ECW alumni who are applauding him.
A video package plays about Angelina Love's quest to take back the Knockout's title.
Match 3: Angelina Love vs Madison Rayne - Knockout's Championship
Angelina Love gets the clean victory over Madison Rayne. Post match attack by Madison as a mysterious biker female comes in and puts her attention to Angelina first, taking her out. As Madison laughs, the helmeted leather clad female takes out Madison with a familiar finishing move. She takes off her helmet and reveals herself to be a returning Tara. She holds the Knockout's Title above her head while looking down at both of her fallen victims. She rides away with the belt on her motorcycle.
Mr. Anderson is interviewed backstage and instead of doing the a**hole gimmick, he takes a serious tone. "I may be seen as the funny guy here in TNA, but tonight, Abyss...Jeff Hardy...and especially Rob Van Dam...you're going to see just how serious I can be when the main event happens. And all you'll be hearing by the end is (announcer voice) Your winner and the NEW TNA World Heavyweight Champion...Misteerrrrrr....ANDERSON! (Pause then in a soft serious tone) Anderson..."
- Match 4: AJ Styles and Kazarian vs Mystery Team
The stipulations for Styles and Kazarian are that if they win, they secure themselves a spot in Ric Flair's Fortune stable. They come out in matching color gear and AJ has gone back to the gimmick hoodie with Kaz wearing similar gear. They look like a genuine tag team. As they wait for their opponent, the music plays and it is that of Samoa Joe who is accompanied by Rob Terry, the TNA Global Champion. Joe psychs up Terry to get angry and mean in the matchup. In the end however, Kazarian and Styles get the pin on Rob Terry after a double high flying move combination. The two celebrate and put up the "4" sign.
Jeff Hardy is interviewed backstage by Christy Hemme as he prepares his face paint. He calls it his "war paint" as he feels like everytime he goes in that ring, he feels like he's going to war for himself and all his fans. Tonight the stakes are really high as he has an opportunity to finally become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He knows that he, Anderson, and RVD all share mutual respect for each other, but that's all put aside when the title is on the line. And as for Abyss, "He should know that whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Abyss...I'm feeling stronger than ever tonight."
-Match 5: Hernandez vs Matt Morgan - Cage Match
As Matt Morgan makes his way to the ring, Taz and Tenay remind the audience that he has in fact been offered a spot in Fortune. Taz states that Morgan told them earlier tonight before the PPV that Morgan will prove his worth tonight even more so when he defeats Hernandez. The finish comes when as the two fight to get out of the cage from climbing up top, Matt Morgan hits a big boot from a seated position and knocks Hernandez back into the ring, allowing Morgan to escape. Kazarian and Styles meet him at the entrance ramp and hold up his arms in victory.
The ECW alumni have a camera closer to them and they are all whispering to each other not allowing the camera to see what they're talking about. We see Dixie Carter backstage now on the phone, "Yes, Eric. I know they're here. I've been watching them all night. I've got the situation under control." Back at ringside Taz and Tenay disucss the situation and Taz still denies he has anything to do with it.
A video package plays as we get set for Ric Flair's return to the ring against Jay Lethal. Ric Flair's music hits first and it's actually Jay Lethal in his own Flair gear. He starts to do the impersonation and the music of the real Ric Flair comes out. Flair is pissed beyond all belief.
- Match 6: Ric Flair vs Jay Lethal
As the two are introduced, Flair is seething with anger and Jay is trying to get the best of him but it turns out he underestimated Flair. The two go back and forth with Jay Lethal shining with a few moves of his own. Flair eventually uses his dirty tacticts to get Lethal into the Figure Four Leglock. Lethal has no choice but to tap out. Flair stands up and then picks Lethal up. He goes for a handshake and Lethal is apprehensive at first, but he does it. They shake hands, Flair gets the mic and goes, "Listen kid, that was a hell of a match. And I hope you learned a lesson." All of a sudden Flair decks Lethal with the microphone and yells at him, "The lesson being you will NEVER...EVER...be me!" He hits the Figure Four again on Lethal who is screaming in pain. Eventually he lets go and leaves. Lethal leaves to audience's applause.
Backstage Abyss is interviewed in the dark. He is saying nothing really. Hemme tries to get his thoughts on the main event. All he says is, "RVD...Jeff Hardy...Mr. Anderson...my time has come. I know because they told me so." Hemme asks "Who are they you keep talking about?" Abyss looks at her, "They...are not who you think they are." Abyss then leaves.
Mike Tenay and Taz run through the "taglines" tale of the tape for Beer Money and Motor City Machine Guns.
- Match 7: MCMG vs Beer Money Inc. - TNA Tag Team Championship
The two teams fight an amazing match but when the pinfall is about to be decided, time runs out in the match. The referees come out and discuss it with each other. Brian Hebner tells Jeremy Borash to announce that the match is now going into Sudden Death, there must be a winner. The MCMG get the win with a double team after countering out of the DWI and become the NEW tag team champions. They celebrate in the crowd with their new belts. The ECW alumni are standing in appreciation of the match.
Backstage, Flair is with Styles, Kazarian, and Morgan, celebrating their victories. Desmond Wolfe comes in and tries celebrating with them but Flair runs him down letting him know he didn't do jack squat to show he belongs in Fortune. Beer Money come into the locker room, tired and battered from their match. They apologize to Flair. Flair tells them that there's no room in Fortune for losers. If they ever want to be apart of Fortune, they have to make a statement. Until then, "get the hell outta here."
A video hypes Kurt Angle and D'angelo Dinero as well as a new graphic showing the current top ten standings.
- Match 8: Kurt Angle vs D'Angelo Dinero
Kurt defeats Dinero with an Ankle Lock moving up to the number eight position. He holds up the seven fingers letting the crowd know that's how many spots he's got to climb before being able to face Rob Van Dam. The two shake hands and Angle puts over Dinero to the crowd.
Rob Van Dam is interviewed backstage. He says he'll answer the question everyone's thinking. "The answer is no. I don't know why some old friends of mine are here watching the show. Maybe they're here to cheer me on. Maybe they're here to watch a good show. Whatever the case, in the end, they're not going to distract me from what I need to do to keep this belt around my waist. Jeff Hardy, Mr. Anderson, and especially you Abyss, I don't want to disappoint you, but here's a little spoiler alert for you. Rob Van Dam is going in the World Heavyweight Champion and he's coming out the same way."
- Match 9: RVD vs Jeff Hardy vs Abyss vs Mr. Anderson: TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Mr. Anderson shines throughout the match as does Rob Van Dam, but Abyss threatens to use his new weapon. At one point, RVD is in the corner and looks like he's going to take the death blow from the weapon but Jeff Hardy blocks it with a chair and knocks the weapon out of the ring. Mr. Anderson and Hardy double team Abyss. Out of nowhere RVD hits a springboard double kick to the two of them then hits the 5 Star Frog Splash on both for the win. As RVD holds the TNA Championship above his head, Abyss starts to climb back in the ring with the weapon. At that point, the ECW alumni run down to the ring and make the save for their friend, beating down on Abyss as well as Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson. Rob Van Dam doesn't join in but he watches from the stage. The ECW alumni stand tall in the ring as Dreamer points to RVD with a singapore cane. The two stare each other down as the show closes.
