Following in the footsteps of Family Guy and Futurama, it seems that Mike Judge's classic cartoon Beavis and Butt-head may also be making a return to television in the semi-near future. Saying they've spoken to an anonymous source, REVIEWniverse reports that Judge, the mastermind behind Office Space and King of the Hill, has been outlining 30 new episodes of the animated MTV series.

According to REVIEWniverse, Judge also plans to honor the show's roots, retaining the series' original format and faded aesthetic.

That would in fact, be cool
Whether MTV will actually pick up the show's resurrection remains to be seen, but in a worst case scenario, the show could make a viable transition from the small screen to the computer screen - and could be easily published on Judge's own website or an established online partner.

It'd make adult swim in five minutes.

Never really liked Beavis and Butthead.

If you watch it now it's much more clever than people gave it credit for when it was on. I'd give it another shot.

I hope so. I read about this earlier today though and the complete lack of any authority makes me take it with a grain of salt. 30 episodes is a hell of a lot and the demo that would be most into this isnt MTVs prime demo anymore.

Viacom does own Comedy Central though. Maybe make an hour block of B&B and Futurama.

king of the hill being on Adult Swim....I'd say it should be there. It's more of a "Fit" on Adult Swim now....MTV is not right for it anymore.

It would be the only MTV show airing music videos. Only the dumbest exec would go against this plan.

AND PAY MIKE JUDGE FOR CHRISTSAKE!

Damn that show brings back memories. I was a bartender, and it would come on just as we had finished cleaning the place up, and we sat around the closed bar drinking and smoking pot (and eventually, doing coke).

It'd be kinda cool if Beavis & Butt actually aged. Like... they work at Kinko's now, or some shit. Maybe they're in a cover band. Their girlfriends are chubby. Ya know... that kinda thing.

Just imagine how much money they could make Xeroxing nickles and dimes, if they didn't have to pay for them!

It would be great if Stuart was an IT millionaire and still had a man crush on Beavis and Butthead.

Perhaps Mr. Van Dreisen turned ultra-conservative after 9-11.

Beavis and Butthead getting laid is so contrary to what the characters are. It is like the Wile E. Coyote catching the Road Runner.

It's called "Beaver and Buttface". It might be out there somewhere. Good luck finding it.

HEHEHEH... THIS ROCKS! (http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/tv/they_re_back_PZVN8lcKHQYVIYx3xAJRtM)

The new series would keep Beavis and Butt-head in their perpetual high-school state, but it would be updated so that the pals… could lob their snarky comments at more current targets like Lady Gaga. The show’s minimalist animated style is also expected to remain intact.
The return of “Beavis and Butt-head” will be a backdoor means for MTV to return to showing music videos — something the network was founded upon but abandoned in the last decade to make room for popular reality shows like “Laguna Beach,” “The Hills” and “Jersey Shore.”
