Any advice for someone trying to run 2 speakers from my TV - without a receiver?
Not looking for any mind-blowing sound quality. Just something simple and low-cost that will put the sound closer to me.

Our den / office TV is right near an ac unit. Very loud. hard to hear the TV without cranking it full blast. ( hard to do that with a baby in the house)

So I'm looking to run some speakers from the TV to the couch area (about 12 ft away from tv) without having to invest a lot of money or purchase a receiver.

geeky tech nerds... i ask, IS THIS POSSIBLE?

if they are powered speakers, yes, just buy the right connectors

if they are unpowered speakers, you will need some sort of amplification unit, like a cheap reciever, small 2channel amp, stereo with aux inputs, etc.....

If you go the amplified PC speaker route...
Agree with Mr. Cam. Radio Schlock should have the connectors to get you from the RCA audio output to the female audio input your speakers will likely need.
Something like:

Then a long RCA male to RCA male to get over to the TV.

Good luck.

I run a line from my VCR (Yes. I still have a VCR, but you can do it from a cable box, too) to my "Line In" jack on my computer. My computer's surround sound system is nicer than anything else I have.
