The way advertising uses America's founding fathers or any historical figures.

Considering its almost the 4th of July and I just watched a beer commercial end with Ben Fanklin asking a bunch of girls who loves the Benjamin.

I cant imagine other countries using their historical figures to shill or even recent American ones to sell. In a hundred years will Reagan be selling cars or even MLK

Why do we let them get away with it?

It offends me more when the conservative kooks act as if the founding fathers were all about Christianity, when there is plenty of evidence to support the opposite.

It's shameful! This would never have happened in Theodore Roosevelt's day!

I love the right wing's little attempts to white wash our founding fathers. I guess they do it so they can try to make us long for a time long gone when ideals and morals were high. Truth, Justice and the American way, right?

The Founding Fathers were slave owners, rapists, murders, thieves, adulterers, etc. They were men in power at the time and took advantage of that power.

They were doing the same shit we hang politicians and celebrities out to dry for these days. The Founding Fathers were just lucky there wasn't a 24 hour news cycle at the time.

I don't want to discredit them for framing an amazing system for our country, but I'm not in the business of canonizing them all after the fact. They were flawed men like we all are.

James Madison made a fat girl suit for fuck's sake.

Paul Revere was into scat.

John Hancock made his slaves give him piggyback rides whenever he wanted to go somewhere.

Well I’m sure with as capitalistic as people are the rightful heir to the Franklin estate could file for damages for use of the image of Franklin. As well as any of the other historic figure that is being prostituted. Once the corporations had to shill out some of there hard earned dough for there transgression they would probably stop doing it.

Doesn't bother me at all. And it is really nothing new, how long have furniture stored had President's Day sales? I would be scared if people weren't allowed to do so. People put way too much importance in symbols and the founding fathers are a symbol at this point.

Here you go, Larry Literal. Way to roll with it, shitdick.

Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, there it enters the roots of the vines, to be changed into wine, a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy.
