Depressing day at the gym: Workout buddy's son's friend's dad beaten to death in NJ.

I could hardly do my squats today when i heard the story of what went down in Old Bridge, NJ last Friday.

Last Saturday my workout buddy got the brutal news that his son's close friend, brother, and father were beaten outside of their house when out for an evening post dinner stroll, something Indian families are custom to do.

While walking in the neighborhood they saw a car pull up and three kids leaned out the window yelling out "We want to talk to you." The family, scared of black people late at night, started to hurry up home, the car did the same. Only a few yards from their house the kids in the car kept yelling the same thing and eventually jumped out and rushed them. The young son (about twelve) was punched in the face and cell phone kicked away. The older brother was smashed up but not before he identified the one of the kids doing the beating as members of the Old Bridge HS football team. Dad kept asking "Why do you want to pick a fight with us?" The dad was then beaten and died over night at the hospital from his wounds. The mom jumped away and hid in the bushes as her family was destroyed around her. Two white kids were in the car driving them and are the ones that turned the murders in. When interrogated by the cops they said they were just out looking to beat someone up.

Pretty terrible. The son was at the funeral, said it was packed. I skipped good mornings because I was too occupied in my head after hearing the story.

It's not a hate crime.
