... can you drink w/o worrying about being legally drunk ?
I've never had one but my understanding is that they do contain a small amount of alcohol.
Any thoughts ?

By law, they have to contain less than 0.5% alcohol by volume. So however many regular beers you can drink within a certain time period without being legally drunk, you can probably multiply that number by 10-12 and find the comparable total.

I'm trying to be more resonsible now that I have a child so I was thinking of mixing a few of those in w/ a regular beer.

The real question is how many can you choke down
before you say "fuck this" and get a real beer.

Why don't you just drink Zima
Because I'd like it to be a beer.
And because I don't have any Jolly Ranchers to drop in it.

Then why not drink beer?

If you go to a good liquor store, they will have a better selection than the grocery store. All that domestic green bottle shit is heinous. Guinness makes Kaliber, which is my favorite. It's definitely not a beer, but it's a pretty good imitation of one. I call it "beer soda".

I'm a Kaliber fan too. You can almost convince yourself you're really having a beer. Buckler, made by Heineken, is my choice if I can't find Kaliber.

Buckler is definitely decent. Some of the german imports are okk as well. But I still prefer the immense variety and alcohol burn of a real beer. Long live the ales!!!!!!

I would have to be legally drunk to have one in the first place.

Zima actually has more alcohol in it then alot of beers.
Personally I dont drink beer for the taste, I drink it for the alcohol so If I wanted to be more responsible Id just drink soda.

The reason for wanting to mix in a non-alcoholic beer or a few was due to the fact that I'm trying to be more responsible now that I have a child at home.
Some of the " non-green bottle " non-alcoholic ones do sound interesting.
But when I'm at home or not responsible for traveling I'll be sure to stick w/ good ole alcoholic beer.

I know, you implied the beers that I said were good weren't in your first post. That's what I call " a taste of you're own medicine".
Billy Connolly:
"The type of thing that Connolly might talk about on stage is what happens to a pair of Scottish drunks when they go into an Italian bar and ask for a “pint of what the Pope drinks,” and promptly down a pint of Crème De Menthe and order another."
