Martin Short's short lived cartoon. I thought it was funny, "I must say." Such a dork but funnier than Primetime Glick.

The character wasn't exactly shorlt-lived. Martin Short was doing that character on SCTV in Canada for a few years before bringing it over to SNL. I did think it was pretty funny, and Short is a terrific physical comedian.

I think, therefore I am..............a moron.

Ed Grimley! (Be still my heart!) Before the original sketch ever made it to SCTV, Martin Short did 'Ed' as a character with the improv troupe, "Second City" (based out of Toronto, and Chicago). When he was developing Ed Grimley (which began as a 'weird guy who shows up at a job interview'...the interviewer was the wonderful Catherine O'Hara. Anyway, he started slicking his hair up, and that always got a big laugh...so each night, Short kept making it higher, and pointier! Obviously, it evolved into Ed Grimley,I must say, and became one of everyone's favorite character's on the TV show. I loved every episode in which he appeared...the B/W Christmas episode was classic...with him in pajamas, staring out the window watching for Santa ,"..and if it happens to snow on Christmas Day, I'll go mental, I must say"!!!! ,at one point, you hear his angry father shout from another room, "GO TO SLEEP!" sigh, funny stuff.. I love ALL SCTV...and it's not just because I'm CANADIAN.

Remember him? He inspired me to take up the Triangle.

Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

What a WIERD CARTOON!

Between Ed Grimley, Jeremy Glick and Clifford I really begin to suspect that he has multiple peronality issues.

Yes I remember Ed Grimley and I have a funny story. When I was probably 10 or so, me and a bunch of my cousins were bored and decided to make some sort of movie. (This was around when more people were buying camcorders). Anyway, we ended up all dressing like Ed Grimley (with the spike in the front of our hair and our pants pulled up) We were a family of Grimley's and went Christmas caroling at people's houses just to see what they would do. It was so damn funny to see people's faces. I think they thought we rode the short bus! :)
