Alright, I've been going to the Gym everyday.
Now, The point of this thread is to say that I eat somewhere around 1800 calories a day. I Burn around 800-900 running at the gym. Now, Apparently my Basal Metabolic Rate says that I need to eat somewhere around 2200 calories a day with a sedentary lifestyle.
Starvation mode is when the body stops burning calories and starts with holding them, deminishing muscle and the like. My question is, 1800 calories a day is completely safe, yet I find out if I eat 1000 calories a day it will put me into starvation mode. Now here's where my question comes into play, if I eat enough calories to take me Out of starvation mode, would burning 800 off my 1800 not put me into it? I mean, technically, my body would confuse itself and say "Alright, no need to enter Starvation, 1800 calories consumed", but then right before I sleep I run 6.5 miles.
So I'd Like to know, If I ate 1800 calories a day, and then Burned 800 excercising, would that be considered Unhealthy?

No. As long as you still have fat to burn off you should be fine. One thing you should do if you are going to the gym every day is staggering your workouts to let muscles heal. Rest is when muscles rebuild and repair using up those calories to do so. If you are constantly working a muscle without resting it it will fatigue and your body wont be able to use the calories to build it.
As you lean out you will see that its harder to drop the remaining amount of fat reserves. In general the body really doesn't like to get rid of body fat under 8% thats a commitment to get there.

I'm not lifting and it's strictly cardio.

I have received several separate emails where Burn The Fat readers had been told by other fitness experts that what I’ve been teaching for years about starvation mode and being cautious about very low calorie diets is wrong.

Are you trying to lose weight? What are your goals?
If you're eating healthy foods, sleeping well, able to concentrate, and complete your workouts without wanting to pass out, then you're probably OK. If you losing more than 2 pounds a week, you should probably eat a little more.

I have no idea what your body weight, height, etc. is and what your goals are, but just taking an educated guess, I would have to say that you are taking in way too little calories to sustain even a moderate exercise program.
What the fuck am I talking about, you may be asking yourself. What I mean is that your body needs fuel to perform the exercises correctly and for you to have the energy to do so. Just cutting calories isn't going to do shit for you, especially in the long run. You may shock your body into losing some weight on the outset of a crash diet, but it will eventually return.
It is extremely difficult to stick with a good exercise program, thus the problem with a bad diet. You need to change your caloric intake somewhat, but what is more important is what type of foods you are eating. It's OK to eat a lot as long as the food is something good. You will burn off the extra calories during exercise. Without the food in you, forget about the energy to even get a decent workout in.
Eating shit, even in moderation, is still shit. Your body requires a certain amount of protein, carbs and fats. Plus you need to drink a lot of water all day long. That's one of the keys to getting healthy. And that's what you want to do, not just drop a few pounds.
