We recently discovered an Italian place by us that makes DELICIOUS food. The dinners are great, awesome foccacia, etc.

But I've been in there a couple of times, and the manager (or owner?) is a complete douchebag who yells at the staff. There's been at least three incidents out of 5 or 6 times I've been in there where he's yelling or confronting the counter guys or delivery guys, and one time we were in there with the rest of my family and my sister in law refuses to go back.

So the problem is - good food, shitty management that makes me feel uncomfortable going in there. And I feel bad for the staff.

There's a shitload of Italian restaurants in NJ. But good or great Italian restaurants with good prices - that's another story.

We have a place for pizza but they don't do dinners that well.

You also have to consider that the cooks are probably miserable and hate their jobs. Not that it would make any sense to fuck with your food, if they hate their boss, but it's still a possible factor.

Having worked in hospitality for about ten years I'd say over half of chefs/managers are absolute cunts who constantly berate their staff, then they all go out for drinks after. It's part of the culture. Don't sweat it.

Ive worked in the restaurant / bar business for 16 years. If you ever eat in a TGIFridays, Outback, Dave & Busters, Chiles, Don Pablos, Ruby Tuesdays or any other restaurant like that, you already are eating at places where the managers are dicks.

Restaurant management has one of the highest douchebag ratios out of any profession.
