I know we have a lot of lawyers on here so here's a question for you:

I'm in the process of interviewing for a new job in engineering. I have a "Secrecy, Non-Competition, Non-Solicitation Agreement" with my current company. The VP of the company I interviewed with last week asked me to send him a copy of my current agreement so his legal department can read over it before offering me a job.

Should I let him read it?

You won't feel that way if you ever get sued or arrested.

Yes, you should. Though the legality of non-compete agreements vary between states.

What happens if there is a clause that states that any competing firm that reads the non compete form nullifies any legal protection you have that nullifies any competition between non competing agreements?

Whoa.

No judge is going to upload a non-compete in this economic climate.

I don't think many judges hold up non-comp agreements unless they actually involve infringement on actual trade secrets. If its just working in the same industry, there is no way for a company to sue you for trying to make a living.

Disclaimer - this is just me talking about of my non lawyer arse.
