I am just wondering how everyone is dealing with the crappy economy. Aside from "tightening" the boot straps, is anyoen doing anything creative.
I have been bringing my lunch to work, I don't do takeout on the weekends anymore
and I have been selling my books online.
I have decided to pay off all my credit card debt ( which isn't to high) by the end of the summer.
What are you doing to save/ make a lil extra cash?
Crying and drinking to excess

I also did a lil bank shopping, if one was offering a cash bonus for opening an account, I did it, just 25 bucks out of direct deposit and there you go

Well besides bartending anywhere I could get a spot and working our day jobs, me and the wife started selling custom made cakes.
Check it out.

Its still not enough right now though. I need the housing market to pick back up so I can start making money with my day job again. Otherwise I dont know what we are gonna do.

Yard Sale and Ebay. Everything must go!
It hasn't hit the Airline Mod industry yet, but it will, so I started planning last year.
Last fall I put myself and my chick on a "Three year plan", that if we stick to, should make us debt free by 11/6/2012 (Assuming both our vehicles last that long), which includes our mortgage. I can't wait.
I've taken advantage of some "no interest for one year" offers, and other balance transfers that has helped too, and for the last two years I've been borrowing against my 401k at 4.25% and paying MYSELF the interest instead of the goddamned credit card and mortgage companies.
I wish I'd thought of that last one about 8 years ago.

Ive been doing that with credit cards every year since I got married. Transferring balances each year and paying them off month by month. 8 grand down, 7 grand to go.
The thing is right now my bills are out of control. My debt is actually pretty easy to handle with the exception of my mortgage and wifes car payment.
But I do have a few things going for me...
- Car paid off by 2013
- Car insurance to be cut in half by 9/2011
- 0% interest on my credit cards
Ive always been good at managing money, its just tough because my wife is NOT good at it at all. Thats why I handle the financials. I love the gal but just saying "I do" put me about 29 grand in debt. So Ive had to use my skills to clean that up. Ive gotten it down 11 grand in 5 years. Which is pretty good.
Its just frustrating because Im working my ass off and if the money was just average on what it was supposed to be Id be doing beautifully. Thats the bad part about working independantly for commission. Killing myself for peanuts.

Don't be afraid/embarrassed to declare bankruptcy if necessary! Too many people wait well past when they should do so out of pride!
I'm just trying to save money where I can! Paid off most of my credit card debt and trying to go easy on the unnecessary expenses!

Well done. As I think we are seeing, spending doesn't produce wealth. It's a good try though. Keynes was a nitwit.
We need something better.
Oh, by the way, the guy above me appears to be a spammer.
