Do You Have To Read Comic Books To Be A Comic Book Geek?

i havent read a comic book in over 30 years but i own the spiderman,x-men,fantastic 4,blade,superman,batman and watchmen and ghost rider movies on dvd. i dont think i'm a comic book geek but i wonder,what do you geek and non geeks think?

Watching geeky movies makes you a geek of sorts, but to be a specific "Comic Book Geek" you need to read comic books.

Think of it this way. Star Wars and Star Trek didn't have comic books back when they started but people would consider their uber fans geeks.

If you are a fan of the Marvel and DC movies you could geek out on them, but I think the term Comic Book Geek is reserved for the comic book reader.

So you're just a geek.

Similarly, to be a comic book geek, you have to read comics. If you so don't, but like superhero movies, you're a superhero fan.
