Freddy's Bar and Backroom

Ron was talking today about old New York places shutting down.
I'm just wondering if any of you buddies have frequented Freddy's Bar and Backroom on Dean St. in Brooklyn. It's my favorite bar in the city and has become a legendary dive bar. It's closing this week as it's being forced to shut down by Ratner's Atlantic Yards project (new Nets arena complex opening near Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn). They plan to re-open at a new location in a couple months, but who knows what will happen. Please show your love if you've ever been to Freddy's, and if you haven't, you still have a couple days left.

My brother and brother in law play their all the time. It is a crap hole, but after going a few times I love it. It just has it's own feel. I heard that it is going to move to either 4th ave or 5th ave and union..someplace over their.

My father use to go to Freddy's for lunch, they use to have great sandwiches. That was back quite a few years.

I guess all good things must end..it sucks. Also the worst part they bar is closing not because of no business but for stupid building and the Nets...booo.

Only think I will not miss their is the cunty waitress, just down right annoying. Was so pissed one time she pulled all the mics out of the PA, because she felt we were not tipping her enough..fuck her.
