Ahh, they should be proud to welcome Mr. Duke into their ranks.

Maybe have him to a speaking tour.

Confused? According to Duke, they aren't racist, they just don't like non-Europeans?

I'm hoping for a Palin / Duke ticket.

I'm hoping for a Palin / Duke ticket.

That would be the single greatest thing to happen to the Democratic party in a long time.

I think a Byrd/Duke ticket would really bring both parties together.

Naw, man, Byrd sold out the Klan 60 years ago and has done a lot to repudiate what he did in the 40s. No way they want someone like that.....

maybe Corpse of Strom Thurmond / Dyuke

Strom was a Democrat till the exodus of racists to the GOP back in the day, plus he kept his Klan kred by spawning Atwater and Rove through Harry Dent...

Not that it really changes your point but Byrd pretty famously filibustered against the Civil rights act in 1964.

So by one person wanting to be a part of the tea party movement everyone who is involved in it exactly like that one person?

God. I guess that does make Obama everything the right has been saying he is.

Right.

So the theory is because a racist also believes in the Tea Party movement's goals of smaller government and fiscal responsibility, therefore all Tea Party supporters are racists. Brilliant. That's like saying because Fidel Castro supported Obama's candidacy, then all people who supported Obama's candidacy were dictators.

Why do you guys defend the Tea Party people? They're terrible! Think for yourselves!

I don't think all tea party members are overtrly racist. I do think some are. Also, since people generally resist change of any knid, Obama being black may influence others would not have joined if it was just another old white guy. Not because they are racist, but a black president is a major change, fear may fear other major changes.
The tea party is just doing a bad job of preventing itself from being turned into a fringe group of loons. Having sarah palin, joe the plumber, and david duke as the faces of your movement is not helpful. In my opinion, I think fox likes the tea party acting crazy, so when the other media outlets point it out, fox can cry victimization at the hands of white guilt ridden elitists.
You want lower taxes? Fine. Don't act like 1 or 2 percent marginally increases will end the republic.

Here is a guy, on the side of the government, calling us sheep for sharing some similiar views of some anit-government protesters. Yea sure, think for yourself

I don't think they are all racists, either.
But they are whipping up hysteria and are so virulently anti-Obama that they are attracting those who hate Obama because he is black and have an identical emotional frenzy going at the thought of him being president.
There have been quite a few of them at Pee Party events, including some of their leaders, and the rest of the Pee Party doesn't seem to want to get rid of them.
The Tea Party has been a collection of dishonest kooks from the beginning. They set out to disrupt town hall meetings and ever since have been in a sort of competition to see who can use the most extreme, inflamatory rhetoric, regardless of whether it bears any relation to the truth.
The dishonesty part is the insistence they are a spontaneous grass roots outfit when in fact their funding shows where they really come from. The Republicans think they can harness them and they are wrong. They will prove to be a colossal embarrassment to the GOP by the time it is over.

This is a band of zealots with an insistence on ideological purity that will be their undoing. They will eventually disintegrate into factions, accusing one another of not being "pure" enough. This stage should be highly entertaining.

But at least David Duke has found a large, nationwide group he views as kindred souls. One gets the imptression he was feeling a bit lonely.........till now.......
