I am moving to the Northeast and want to cut down my travel on I-95. Whereas a little more expensive than driving myself and gas prices, I have elected to go the Auto-Train route and save the miles on the car as well as my well-being. (fingers crossed) Doing a quick run down of the opportunity cost, I like the idea but have never been on Amtrack before, much less with a vehicle in tow.
The train is direct from Sanford, FLA to D.C. and looks like it is an acceptable form of conveyance. I will have to drive an additional 400 miles North, but My question is; Has anyone taken the Auto-Train and is it a worthwhile endeavor?
