Well Westchester county in suburban NYC ranks # 1 as highest in the nation with close to 12K of being the average tax bill. Thats 80% above the national average. Im glad I moved the fuck outta there and bought in CT

I'm up to $11K here in Central New Jersey. Yes, I think they're too high. I really, really do.

That's for just under half an acre. I cringe to think what might happen once the municpalities try to make up for all the state funding that Gov. Christie is cutiing off.

damn. i'm not sure what the actual prop taxes are at my mom's place, but it's in the country in southwestern new york state, and have just under 150 acres. they pay 6K in just school taxes and i thought that was insane.

Yeah, this story really is nothing to me.

On my 2 bedroom condo, meaning NO land, in western NJ I paid a little over $4,000 last year. People I work with who live in Central NJ said their taxes neared the $12,000 mark this year.

Just a way of life for us around these parts.

im pretty sure the effective tax rate in paramus ends up being 0 cause all the malls. Maybe you guys should move.

I do find it funny that we, in mahwah, payin a lower % in property tax than people in Paterson do
