A quick rundown;

The wifi on my phone stopped working. I called the service provider, went through 4 levels of support and nothing.
They suggested I take it to a service center and have tech look at it. After analyzing the wifi, doing a hard reset (losing all of my apps, contacts, personalization, etc) Nothing.
I got home, called the provider again and explained the situation. They agreed to FedEx me a new phone. It will arrive Monday morning.

After putzing around with it this morning, I was able to get the wifi working again. I reloaded all of my apps, contacts, pictures and everything. Except for missing my text message history and some data input, you would hardly know anything ever happened.

The Conundrum...

Do I keep the new phone that is arriving, and send the old one back, or thank them for their help and return the new one?

Keep the new one.

Years ago I ordered a Ric Flair shirt from WWE Shop, it didn't come when it was supposed to so I called and they sent me a new one. The next week I got the original one.

So now I have two.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I work for the phone company and I'm 100% in favor of you keeping the extra phone and sticking it to the greedy cunts! They, in particular the wireless parts of the business, are categorically shitheels who do everything in their power to fuck over the customer.

Keep in mind my current attitude is being influenced by the fact I'd like to stab my boss with a pitchfork and then piss in the wounds.

I'm an unbelievably decent person who fights for good at the drop of a hat and have brightened the days of countless souls, and even rescued a dog off of a roof once, but I would keep the new phone.

You don't know if the problem has gone away, just that it's not happening right now. Guaranteed the wifi stops working over and over again.

Tub You don't want to spend your life wondering what could have been.

Man: Sir, I need a decision.
Peter Griffin: Salad.
Peter Griffin: No, wait! Soup!

Peter Griffin: But it was too late.
Peter Griffin: And to this day, I still lay awake at night wondering about the soup that got away.

Dosent the carrier demand that you send the old one back to them? If you have lost all of your personal info I would keep the new one.

I say keep the new one for you inconvenience as somebody else said.

How long have you had the old one ?

Nothing wrong w/ an upgrade.

keep the new one, just because the old one started working again, that doesn't mean it won't screw up again. Save yourself a possible headache.

I say keep the new one. You already lost all your customizations etc. Might as well swap the old with the new and customize that one. Not sure how long you had the old one for but it can't hurt to switch to the new at this point.

Just make sure that they don't charge you more for the replacement, especially if it's insured.

My brother-in-law's carrier tried to charge him an extra $400 for a phone replacement after his original, insured one went belly up and they didn't have any replacement phones at the store.
