A very SPOOKY reference

I was wathing an old episode of RAW is War (on tape) from February 1997.

McMahon, Ross, and Lawler were discussing Shawn Michaels and his lost smile. McMahon made reference to HBK's bum knee to which Lawler eerily replied...

"His knee is just an excuse, if you're the world champion you have to learn to play through the pain, I mean look at Dale Earnhardt. His car ran into the wall at the Daytona 500 just this past week, but did he quit? No, he got up and walked away to race another day."

I swear to God this freaked me out.

"She turned me into a Newt!(I got better)"

Why would that freak you out? Different accident at a different time. Lawler made a reference to another champion that most people could relate to who had a situation farely close to that broadcast.

You know what's really spooky: Lincoln had a secretery named Kennedy and Kennedy had a secretery named Lincoln.

It freaked me out because I just happened to grab that particular tape to watch.

It freaked me out because it just happened to be a reference to Dale Earnhardt.

It freaked me out because it was exactly five years before Earnhardt was killed at that exact same race.

It freaked me out because last weekend, a friend and I were discussing how it was coming up on a year from when Earnhardt was killed.

I don't expect too many people to really care about this, but I did find it odd.

I'm actually shocked that someone in the WWF actually poked holes, on the air, in Michaels' bullshit excuse about "losing his smile". It wouldn't have killed you to do the job for once, Shawn.

Wow, my opinion of Lawler goes up quite a bit there. Good job pointing that out, Jerry!
