Watched this documentary last night, and it REALLY stuck with me... VERY well done doc about gang violence in LA. Covers a lot of bases. Doesn't just talk about gang violence today, but the origins of gang violence, the how and the why. Very powerful stuff. Great interview subjects. Great production quality. I recommend it to anyone not faint of heart. (It's readily available on NetFlix Instant Watch.)

Love this kind of stuff too. It has been on my Netflix queue for a while.

So new stuff from the other 20 docs that have been done about the two gangs?

To be honest, I haven't really seen any other gang-related docs, so I don't know if there's anything especially new per se... But what really struck me about this particular one was the historical basis they provide. Instead of just jumping straight into talking about gangs, they really give you a strong understanding of the foundation behind it. It's also just really well put together and produced.
just streamed it...different than the other documentaries on the same subject and a good view...I thought it was a bit soft on the drug business being their motivation and too heavy on the comraderie motivation...
