I loved it. Cyclamates be damned! Is it still around?
And whatever happened to "Orange Crush"?

Tab always makes me think of the joke from "Back to the Future":

"Just give me a Tab."
"I can't give you a tab; you haven't ordered anything yet."

We were so funny in the 80's.

I ordered a "Sanka" in the restaurant last week, and the waitress laughed at me! She told me "It's not 1983 anymore!" I said, "OK, screw it...give me a Shasta!"

True story.

Or what they sell in the "Bodegas".."Good O'Sodas".
Try the pineapple.

Tab always rocked. They kept that chemical flavor long after other soda companies found artificial sweeteners that tasted more like the real thing.

I could taste the carcinogens in that frosty beverage.

UMMMMM...CARCINOGENS!

The weather up here is fine. Thank you for asking.

Give me a tab.

I can't give you a tab you have to order something.

Alright.. give me a pepsi free.

You want a pepsi pal, you're gonna have to pay for it.

You know what... just give me something without any sugar.

I loved Tab. It had sacharine in it for a number of years after the suspected link to cancer was announced, and the other sodas shifted to nutrasweet.

LMAO Nickeye, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread!

I don't remember how it tasted but I do remember having it as a kid. And yes, they actually do still make the stuff. A woman at my old job drinks it all the time. A local supermarket orders it just for her!

Wow, those places rocked Alice. They were all over the city, we had one in Bay Ridge.
I loved the donuts and the hot dogs, and the coffee!

I have fond memories of hot summer days and Tab ice cream floats (real old-time corner store near railroad tracks and the Hudson river). The high calorie alternative was Grape Nehi floats.

No, the ice cream did not impact the aftertaste (thank god).

Heckler- If I remember right the Orange Crush fell to Hollywood Henderson and the rest of the 'Boys, 27-10 in Super Bowl XII.

Fezaesthesia - Prognosis poor...

The one in Bay Ridge had balloons you could pop with prices inside for banana splits..I won a few freebies back in the day. Great contest.

Heckler,

My mom would drink tab with lemon in it.

Hey let's get a RC cola and a moonpie.

How about Nehi grape or orange.

Orange crush was the best orange soda-- artificial flavoring.. screw real fruit juice.

What about "Sun Dew" drinks?
And what was up with that blue flavor? And what about those ice pops in the long plastic bags? And finally, in Brooklyn people had soda delivered to their homes by the case. Remember Hammer and White Rock? LOL
