View Full Version : Most shocking/disturbing R&F moment

Listening to Thursday's show, when Tuddle talked about his "list", it reminded me of when Private Pyle/Kane said he was now channeling the Va Tech shooter. Ron had to cut him off, and ban him from calling the show anymore.
What's the most shocking or disturbing thing you've ever heard on the Ron & Fez show?

Oof, I forgot about Pyle. That was an interesting thing about R&F. In NYC, they got a gaggle of hot chicks. In DC, they brought out the fucking lunatics.

i'm re-listening to old shows, and i'm currently going through the Earl, the fainting goat shows. he went through MRI's, blood tests, brain scans, etc. swearing there was something physically wrong with him. then he became Mr. Perfect picking college football, and all of his problems magically disappeared. what a maniac.

It has to be, Ron and Fez putting WNEW on their backs after O and A got canned, carrying it all through the fall, into the winter, building through an insanely improbable Super Bowl run, and we get all the way to the Super Bowl and the Bucs win and....
NEW changes formats and we had Fresh or whatever it was on Monday night. I've never been a "suit" basher, but it was a dead station, and its stayed a dead station for 7 years. They couldn't give us one night of Fez reveling and recapping that win?
Thank god for the syndication underground at the time, but I'm pretty sure I had a panic attack in the wake of that choice!

To me, it was the piling on of New Lily, especially when someone (Frenchy, I think) called her a "chinky cunt". It was just so vicious and brutal, and didn't seem to have an ounce of actual comedic value -- it was just bile.
I think it's permanently damaged how I view the show.

It's so bizarre because I have heard the end of the WJFK era in 2005, but listening now to the beginning, and he has a lot of good things to say about Cameron.

That was a bit of Ron being angry, and just the pure win of the mental image of Ron chasing someone down the street holding a phone.

Historians will point to that breakdown as the spark where Fez's personality dramatically changed. Theres pre and post meltdown Fez...or is it possibly when his 90yr old comatose grandmother passed away and he wanted to dig her up? Maybe theres an on air tipping point and off air tipping point.

I'm kindof greatful that this was a kind of catharsis for a lot of negativity that had infected the show. All the message board fighting, Night of 1k podcasts blowback, popularity struggles between tertiary show participants, message board trolls and Fez v. Dave at its ugliest. I feel like it just kindof had to happen as part of the whole package solution to end most of that crap.

Not being aware of the underground at that time, I am very confused. I'm listening in August 2003 right now, and all of the old crew has left. Do they come back at some point? They already had their farewell shows.

Why does Ron constantly put Fezzie down on the show??? I've been listening to R&F since the Dot com days....and it's getting worse...and the Red head is constantly is sucking Ronnies ass,,,and it sucks!!!

He was also blasted out of his mind drunk and feeling the pressures of his Grandmother dying the week earlier. He had actually been in a great mood just seconds before the call - he had just had enough drama with Mikey off the air leading up to it that he didn't want to take it anymore.
