Is BitTorrent traffic on a well-known BitTorrent port (6881) throttled?

* The BitTorrent upload (seeding) worked. Our tool was successful in uploading data using the BitTorrent protocol.

* There's no indication that your ISP rate limits your BitTorrent uploads. In our tests a TCP upload achieved at least 1088 Kbps while a BitTorrent upload achieved at most 2575 Kbps. You can find details here.

* The BitTorrent download worked. Our tool was successful in downloading data using the BitTorrent protocol.

* There's no indication that your ISP rate limits your BitTorrent downloads. In our tests a TCP download achieved at least 2744 Kbps while a BitTorrent download achieved at most 4150 Kbps. You can find details here.

Is BitTorrent traffic on a non-standard BitTorrent port (10009) throttled?

* The BitTorrent upload (seeding) worked. Our tool was successful in uploading data using the BitTorrent protocol.

You're getting the full speed. ISPs advertise in megabits per second, the real world uses megabytes per second.

Yeah always leave DHT off the only time you would enable that feature is if a tracker goes down you can still use it via DHT. DHT will mess up ratio stats on private trackers if you only use public trackers it won't make a difference. I didn't look at your screen shots but try these things.

Go to options > preferences > BitTorrent
Don't check the 2 DHT options, Don't check Enable Local Peer Discovery , Under Protocol Encryption set that to Enabled.

Make sure you port forward, Use a port in the 5000 range like 5790 or whatever.

You will never get the speed you get on speed test on torrents Comcast throttles the protocol. There are many reasons why you could be getting shitty speeds. Peerguardian/Peerblock will affect it. You might not be connectable to other people meaning they don't have their client set up properly or they are using a banned client (like bitcommet, transmission and a few others.) You could get stuck in a swarm with people you can't connect to. There are lots of reasons if your worried about speed look into a seedbox

2 bux says I'm right.

All you have to do is look at his time remaining stats to show you're not right. 12 weeks to finish a 4.8 GB torrent? 3 days for 480 MB file?

First off, the screenshot he provides shows that he's SEEDING all of those torrents, and the one you're referring to is actually 42.7 gigs and he's uploaded 4.8 already.

But none of that matters, the main clue was this:

The max I ever got was 1.2Mbps

Which just so happens to be what 10 Mbps figures out to in MBps
