I screwed up my cell by getting it wet, and tried swapping the sim card with my old cell. I have a Blackberry now and my old cell was a Nokia flip type phone. I can't believe I used to text on this thing! So, I was complaining about it to a co-worker and he tells me he has a bunch of Blackberries that he got from an IT buddy. I go though his pile and pick 2, a Pearl and a Curve. They both work perfect and I ask how much, he says $20. This saved me a shit load! Now I have the Curve doing everything I had my 9000 doing and I'm happy. Otherwise, I need to wait till November for a new phone in my contract. Do you have a spare phone you keep as a back up?

I knocked a pitcher of beer over at a bar - right on my Curve. It drowned and quit working. I took out the battery and sat in on may black Escalade in the sun and after an hour or so it dried up and started working agian.

if you ever get your cellphone wet throw it in a bag of rice and let it dry in there, it will work like new once it is done.

I went high tech and got a Bheesty bag for it, and had it in there for 3 days. It comes on and works all, but I can't backspace, use the return or @/P buttons.I had it on my radiator for a day and a half with the back off and no battery in it, trying to air it out. I figure if I can't get it to work, as least I have this Curve for a few months until November. Its nice having the back-up.

i have a bbcurve 8830 as a backup for my droid, but i have insurance on the droid because i simply couldn't be stuck with a f'n piece of shit blackberry for more than a week before it would drive me insane.

If you would have put it on a black Honda Fit, it wouldn't have worked. Good thinking!
