On February 21st, 2000, Ron & Fez broadcast their first Ron and Fez Dot Com show on WNEW (simulcast on WJFK). That means tomorrow will be the 10 year anniversary of Ron & Fez's debut broadcasting from New York City!

I remember hearing them for the first time and thinking... WTF? .com? And Fez is doing what....? I was an advid Stern fan then, but no more.

Glad I stuck with them!

As was pointed out to me, Sunday is the anniversary, not tomorrow.

I remember the first time I listened. I thought Fez sounded like Chris Russo on a helium binge, and their guest that night was Shae Marks, who was giving away free passes to her website.

After the Ron & Ron show era ended and before the WNEW run, the Ron & Fez show began at a station in Daytona, FL. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any audio from those days.

I would love to listen to R&F from day one forward. Thanks for this. I will definitely be downloading and listening on Sunday. Seems that "other sources" don't have the complete shows all the way back to dotcom days.

I wish I had discovered them sooner--oh the wasted years! They had dropped the .com by the time I started listening to them on WNEW, then I lost them when they moved to D.C. I've missed so much fun! Here's to many more years ahead!:drunk:

I listened that night. I distinctly remember talking to my buddy Mike the next day in 1st period Publications class senior year. We both didn't totally get it. The .com thing, the seemingly gay guy. But we knew we liked it and listened every night for a while and would talk about it in class.

God bless those men.

What's the chronology of the time slot changes? They went from late night to midday to night (post-O&A), then they added the daytime hour... is that right?

Yup.
.com overnights, then they were moved up to follow O&A. That's where I got in deep.
They daytime stuff was to fill an empty station. O&A drove away all of the DJ's. Ferall was gone, and after St. Pat's R&F were the only ones in the whole damn building for a while.

Then the dreaded move to DC, and 2 weeks of stunting to turn a NY icon into MIX 102.7:furious:

Your chronology is right, but it is missing the one show they did in the morning. I don't remember when it fell in exactly, but I know they did every shift at WNEW and had made comments about it. Maybe Mikey remembers when it was, I believe it was during the post-O&A slot, probably when Farrell left.

Yeah, well, we're creeping up on the 5th Anniversary of the first "Your Mom's Box" Ron said on WJFK - March 3, 2005. This September will be the 5th Anniversary of them on SatRad.:smoke:

I miss the speculation thread. That was fun! The "clues" people found were like when everyone used to try to find clues in Beatles albums, about Paul being dead.

I think they got credit for the morning drive because their best ofs ran in the morning during one of the Sports Guys' vacations.

General BAM! Wow! Thanks for both making and ruining my day.

Inadvertently thought of this thread this morning as I was flipping by a classic rock station and heard "Hotel California" - a song that had nothing to do with FNL until Tender put it in his song almost exactly five years ago, in the midst of all of the speculations. Oh, how Kathleen loved that song so...

{I just looked up in the history, and turns out it's 5 years ago tomorrow that Tender and Perry did their on-air battle)

Maybe that's what it was. I knew Ron had said they had covered all the shifts, I couldn't remember exactly when they did morning drive, I figured you'd be able to fill in the details on that.

First time I went into studio-met Kathleen and Bri-Bri. Went to Friday night lights at Thursdays afterwards.

I initially thought of the "Fastest Hour in Radio" - but that was 11 - noon wasn't it?

Could he have been including the Ron and Ron days because Fez was on the staff? That was morning drive wasn't it?

Ron and Ron was morning drive and Fastest Hour was midday. And the "worked every shift" was WNEW only.
